Established through Proclamation No. 429 by President Fidel V. Ramos on July 27, 1994, National Family Planning Month in the Philippines is observed every August to promote responsible parenthood, reproductive health, and planned families.

Family planning empowers individuals and couples to plan the number and spacing of their children, supporting healthier families and brighter futures.

The Family Planning Day was celebrated last August 1,2026, led by our Rural Health Midwives Mrs. Ilyn B. Primero, RM and Mrs. Salvacion M. Patingo, RM.

Let’s continue to educate, empower, and advocate for accessible family planning services for all.

In celebration of , an adolescent session (Batch 2) was conducted today by Mina Pcf , led by our Adolescent Youth and Reproductive Health (AYRH) coordinator Mrs. Ilyn B. Primero, RM, in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan, Barangay Officials, Iloilo Provincial Health Office, Mina PNP, and AstraZeneca, PHAPCares at Brgy. Amiroy, Municipality of Mina.

Adolescents from Brgy. Agmanaphao, Amiroy, Badiangan, Janipa-an East, and Janipa-an West were in attendance. Topics about anti-bullying, teen pregnancy, dangers of illegal substances, road safety, and dangers of STIs and HIV were discussed for .

We advocate to educate.

We conduct MRSIA advocacy to raise awareness on the importance of vaccination, encourage parents and caregivers to have their children protected, and help prevent vaccine-preventable diseases in our community.Supplemental MR Vaccine's importance includes:

💉 Protects children from measles and rubella, which can cause serious complications.
🛡️ Provides additional protection even for children who may have received routine vaccinations.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Helps close immunity gaps by reaching children who may have missed or delayed their routine vaccines.
🌍 Prevents outbreaks and reduces the spread of measles and rubella in communities.
🤰 Helps prevent rubella infection during pregnancy, which can lead to serious health problems for an unborn baby.
🏥 Strengthens community protection and supports the goal of eliminating measles and rubella.

The Municipality of Mina has been awarded the Pillar of Blood Program Excellence Level 2 award and and honored as the top 5 municipality in the Province of Iloilo with the most number of blood galloners during the 25th Blood Donors Awarding and Recognition by the Philippine Red Cross. Congratulations and thank you to our Sanitary Inspector Mrs. Alanea Quitor for all your hardwork and dedication in helping 4 barangays in the Municipality of Mina achieve Philippine Approach to Sustainable Sanitation Grade 2 PHATSS G2) Status. Congratulations to Barangay Guibuangan, Nasirum, Naumuan, and Tipolo for being the first 4 barangays in our Municipality and belonging to the first 45 barangays to achieve the PHATSS G2 Status in the Province of Iloilo.

Second Mobile Blood Drive conducted by Mina Pcf, in partnership with Iloilo Provincial Health Office and Philippine Red Cross, at the Municipality of Mina Evacuation Center. A total of 176 individuals from different barangays lined up for screening and 107 were able to successfully donate.

OPT (Operation Timbang) Plus allows for the early identification of stunted, wasted, underweight, and overweight children, enabling immediate referral to health services for treatment.

The data collected serves as the basis for local nutrition action plans and helps determine priority areas for intervention, as outlined in this National Nutrition Council guide.

Digital tools like eOPT automatically calculate nutritional status (e.g., stunting, wasting, obesity) based on height, weight, and age. This minimizes human error and includes Data Quality Check (DQC) protocols to flag discrepancies immediately.

Last May 7, 2026, our Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) were able encode there OPT 2026 at the Municipality of Mina Community e-Center (CEC).

The activity was attended by the 22 BNS, Mrs. Ma. Fe Convocar, RN, DMO IV, and Mina Pcf Staff.
