Hypertension is often called a “silent killer” because many people do not feel sick – even when their blood pressure is already high.

A quick blood pressure check can help people act early, seek care and prevent serious health problems later.

This , make checking your blood pressure part of caring for yourself – and your family.

Check your pressure. Protect your future.

Today, we gather in solemn remembrance and unity as we commemorate the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial held at the Minglanilla Sports Complex.

With every candle lit, we honor the precious lives lost to HIV/AIDS, celebrate the strength and resilience of People Living with HIV (PLHIV), and renew our commitment to compassion, awareness, prevention, and ending stigma.

May this memorial serve as a reminder that every life matters, every story deserves to be heard, and no one should face HIV/AIDS alone. Together, let us continue to spread love, understanding, hope, and support within our community.

🕯️ “Remember the lives lost. Support the lives living. Fight the stigma.”

Today is World Hypertension Day.
High blood pressure - or hypertension - often shows no warning signs, yet it increases the risk for heart disease, stroke, blindness, dementia, and other complications.

A simple blood pressure check can be life-saving.

Getting your blood pressure measured the right way helps ensure accurate results.
Incorrect positions can lead to incorrect readings.

✔ Sit with your back supported
✔ Legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor
✔ Arm supported with the cuff at heart level
✔ Use correct cuff size
✔ Rest for at least 5 minutes before the reading
✔ Do not talk during or between measurements
✔ Avoid exercise, tea/coffee, and smoking for at least 30 minutes before reading

Small steps can make a big difference in protecting your health.

Prolonged screen or reading times can lead to eye strain, dry eyes, and headaches.

DO take breaks!

Use the 20-20-20 rule to help your eyes:
🖥️ After using a screen for 20 minutes
📏 Look at an object 20 feet away
🕓 For 20 seconds
