PSA: The mammogram machine of the Breast Center of Asian Hospital is currently out of service. Resumption of regular operation is tentatively on the second week of June. Breast ultrasound service is still available at this time.

Simula edad 40, magpa-screening na kada taon…

🔘 Mas mataas ang tsansa na ma-detect ang cancer sa mas maagang stage
🔘 Mas maliit pa ang tumor sa maraming kaso
🔘 Mas mataas ang posibilidad na gumaling
🔘 Mas mababa ang risk na kumalat ang cancer
🔘 Nakakatulong mapababa ang breast cancer deaths sa tamang screening population

❓ 𝐏𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠?

⚠️ Hindi sa lahat ng pagkakataon.

Ang breast ultrasound ay mahalagang test, pero kadalasan ginagamit ito bilang additional o dagdag lamang sa mammogram (hindi pamalit).

Mayroon ding mga early breast cancer at microcalcifications na mas nakikita sa mammogram kaysa ultrasound.

Mas maganda ang ultrasound para:
🔘 Tignan kung cyst o solid ang bukol
🔘 Mag-evaluate ng specific area of concern
🔘 Makatulong sa dense breasts kasama ng mammogram
🔘 Younger women

✅ Pero sa maraming babae na eligible for screening, mammogram pa rin ang pangunahing screening test.

🟠 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚-𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠?

👉 Average risk women:
🔘 Mammogram starting age 40 (some guidelines: 40–45)
🔘 Every 1–2 years depende sa risk at usapan sa doktor

⚠️ Mas maagang screening kung:
🔘 Malakas ang family history ng breast/ovarian/pancreatic/prostate cancer
🔘 May kamag-anak na diagnosed ng breast cancer na bata pa (50 years old or younger)
🔘 May BRCA mutation sa pamilya
