The City Veterinary Office of Naga City invites all responsible pet owners to join us in celebrating World Rabies Day 2026!

Help prevent unwanted litters, promote responsible pet ownership, and improve the health and welfare of our beloved companion animals.
๐ WHO CAN AVAIL?
๐ This FREE spay and neuter service is OPEN TO NAGA CITY RESIDENTS ONLY.

Pet owners must be residents of Naga City.
โ
Please bring a valid government-issued ID or any acceptable proof of residency for verification.
โ
The name and address on the identification document may be verified by the City Veterinary Office.
โ
Please bring the petโs vaccination record/card, if available.
โ ๏ธ Non-residents may not be accommodated for the FREE surgical service.
๐ฉบ AGE REQUIREMENTS
๐ถ DOGS: Preferably 6 months old and above
๐ฑ CATS: Preferably 5โ6 months old and above
๐ The appropriate age may vary depending on the animalโs breed, size, physical condition, and overall health.
๐ฉบ FINAL ELIGIBILITY FOR SURGERY WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE ATTENDING VETERINARIAN after physical examination and assessment.
๐ ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION
โ
Pets should have a current/valid anti-rabies vaccination.
โ
Preferably, the anti-rabies vaccine should have been administered at least 2 weeks before the scheduled surgery.
โ
Please bring the petโs vaccination card/record for verification.
โ
Pets without a valid vaccination record will be subject to the CVOโs vaccination protocol and veterinary assessment.
๐งด SUPPLIES TO BRING
Pet owners are requested to bring the following for EACH pet:
โข ๐งด Alcohol โ 250 mL
โข ๐งด Betadine โ 120 mL
โข ๐ฉน Cotton balls โ 1 pack
โข ๐ฉน 4x4 gauze pads โ 5 pcs. for castration
โข ๐ฉน 4x4 gauze pads โ 10 pcs. for spaying
โข ๐ช Surgical blade No. 11 โ 1 pc.
โข ๐ Manila paper โ 1 pc.
โข ๐งด Hydrogen peroxide โ 120 mL
โข ๐๏ธ Large underpad โ 1 pc.
๐ IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PET OWNERS
โ
NAGA CITY RESIDENTS ONLY: Bring a valid ID/proof of residency for verification.
โ
8-HOUR FASTING: No food for at least 8 hours before surgery. Follow the veterinary teamโs instructions regarding water.
โ
HEALTHY PETS ONLY: Pets must be clinically healthy and fit for anesthesia and surgery.
โ Pets showing signs of fever, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, loss of appetite, respiratory problems, or other illness may be deferred or declined for surgery.
โ
PREGNANCY: Inform the veterinary team if a female pet is pregnant or suspected to be pregnant.
โ
MEDICAL HISTORY: Inform the veterinarian about any existing medical condition, medications, previous illnesses, allergies, or previous surgeries.
โ
PROPER RESTRAINT: Dogs must be brought on a secure leash. Cats must be brought in a secure carrier.
โ
CLEAN PETS: Please bring your pet clean and properly groomed, particularly around the surgical area.
โ
OWNER/REPRESENTATIVE: The owner or an authorized representative should remain available during the activity and must be present to receive the post-operative care instructions.
โ
PRE-SURGICAL ASSESSMENT: All pets will undergo veterinary assessment before surgery. Meeting the age, residency, and vaccination requirements does not automatically guarantee eligibility for surgery.
โ ๏ธ The attending veterinarian has the final authority to determine whether a pet is fit to undergo surgery based on its physical examination and overall condition.
