"Let the holy spirit guide your lives."

Paul provides a clear strategy for spiritual victory. He doesnt tell us to simply try harder to suppress our wrong desires; instead, he points us toward a new way of living: walking by the spirit. The walk implies a daily, step by step progression in a specific direction.

The beauty of this promise is found in its sequence. Paul doesn't say, stop gratifying the flesh so that you can walk in the spirit. He says that when we prioritize walking with the spirit, the natural result is that the old desires lose their power over us. When our hearts are full of the spirits presence, there is simply less room for the Distractions and Destructive patterns of the Flesh.

PSALM 55:18
"He rescued me unharmed from the battle waged against me, Even thought many oppose me."

David wrote Psalm 55 from deep distress and betrayal. Yet, amidst the chaos, he declares a bold confidence: a rescue that leaves the soul unharmed. This suggests that while we may be forced into battle we did not choose, the outcome is secured by a power greater than any opposition.

The Promise of being rescued unharmed is one of spiritual preservation. It means the battle may rage around us, but it does not have to get inside us. Like daniels friends in the furnace, qe can emerge from the heat of conflict without the smell of smoke.
