Rabies is deadly but preventable! ⚠️ It spreads through bites or scratches from infected animals — usually dogs.

QUICK SAFETY TIPS:
🧼 Wash any bite or scratch for 15 minutes
💉 Seek medical care at the nearest ABTC (Animal bite Treatment Center)
🐶 Vaccinate your pets regularly.
❌ Avoid tandok and other myths. They cannot prevent rabies.

✅ Let’s protect our community! Report bites immediately. Stay alert, stay safe!

‼️DOH: MANATILING KALMADO SA PANAHON NG MGA SAKUNA TULAD NG LINDOL ‼️

Sa tala ng DOH, karamihan sa mga pasyenteng isinugod sa DOH Hospitals matapos ang mga lindol ay nakaranas ng panic attack at nag-hyperventilate.

Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), normal lamang na makaramdam ng takot, pagkabigla, o pangamba pagkatapos ng isang sakuna ngunit mahalagang manatiling kalmado at mahinahon sa ganitong mga sitwasyon.

Nagsagawa ng Psychological First Aid ang DOH sa mga indibidwal na nakaranas ng matinding stress matapos ang sakuna at patuloy din ang pagbibigay ng Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services sa mga biktima ng lindol na nasa mga komunidad.

[𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦] As part of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary Celebration, a bloodletting activity themed “Every Donor is a Hero” was held on September 23, 2025, at Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) – New Bataan Branch.

The initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of the Health Services Section (HSS), the First Aid Support and Safety Team (FASST), the National Service Training Program Unit (NSTPU), and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of New Bataan, reflecting the spirit of service and community care.

𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞-𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬

The Davao de Oro State College – New Bataan Campus, through the collaboration of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit, Health Services Section, and the First Aid Support and Safety Team (FASST), successfully conducted the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid (SFA) Lecture & Training last 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, at the New Building, 2nd Floor, DDOSC - New Bataan.

The training was made more impactful with the expertise of Sir 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 and Sir 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐲𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐨 as resource speakers, who shared their knowledge and guided the participants in gaining vital emergency response skills.

This initiative aimed to equip First Year Teacher Education students (NSTP) with essential life-saving skills, strengthen their confidence and teamwork, and foster a sense of responsibility as future community responders.

Together, we are shaping a generation that is prepared, resilient, and ready to serve. 💪❤️‍🩹

I’ve seen a viral post claiming that any blood pressure below 120/80 mmHg means you’re already anemic. That’s a misconception we need to clear up right away. 𝑳𝒐𝒘 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒂 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, and you can’t self-diagnose anemia based on your BP cuff reading alone.

𝑼𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒌𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒂𝒏?
1. 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 (𝑩𝑷) makuha na sya gamit ang BP apparatus. Ang optimal adult reading is around 120/80 mmHg. If ubos, kintahay 90/60, basin ubos ra imong resting BP. Dili na sya anemia or anemic.

2. 𝑨𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒂 mahitabo kung ubos ang hemoglobin (p**a nga dugo) pinaagi sa pagkuha sa CBC. Ang normal nga hemoglobin range kay 13–17 g/dL para sa lalaki, ug 12–15 g/dL para sa babae. Kung anemic ka, makabati ka og kakapoy, kutasan mag lakaw, ug pale tan-awon.

Bisan pa man ang imong BP kay 120/80 paubos o 90/60, dili pasabot nga anemic na ka. Siguroha kanunay ang sakto nga laboratory tests ug professional evaluation para sa sakto nga diagnosis.

𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞:
Regardless of your BP, it doesn’t tell you anything about your hemoglobin level. You can't diagnose anemia based on BP. Always consult your doctor! Dili mag tuo-tuo sa silingan.
