𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸

𝐎𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 successfully observed 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 during the fourth week of July 2026. Through a short lecture on raising awareness about diabetes prevention, early detection, and proper management, we encouraged everyone to make healthier choices and take an active role in protecting their health.

Likewise, a free blood sugar testing was administered among patients and caregivers right after the lecture.

In line with 🌿🥗 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🥗🌿, 𝗢𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗰 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 (𝗢𝗗𝗛), under the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘁𝗲, spearheaded an advocacy program through lecture and 𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒚 𝒌𝒖𝒃𝒐 booth exhibit during the month of July. This highlights the sub-theme which is “𝑵𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒚𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝑨𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒂𝒏.” ✨🥗

The short lecture followed by an interactive Q & A portion participated by hospital staff aims to promote healthy eating and the impact of proper nutrition. The 𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒚 𝒌𝒖𝒃𝒐 booth display features different healthy food choices like fruits and vegetables. ✨🥗

Through this observance, ODH continues to encourage everyone to make healthier food choices and recognize the vital role of good nutrition in achieving a healthier and more productive life. ✨🥗

Ormoc District Hospital, under the Province of Leyte, celebrated the 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨' 𝘿𝙖𝙮 last June 19. With this year’s theme, "𝑴𝒖𝒍𝒂 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒐 𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏: 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒃𝒖𝒃𝒖𝒌𝒍𝒐𝒅, 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒎 𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂-𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒔 𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏," we recognized the unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions of our social workers in the hospital in promoting compassionate, equitable, and patient-centered healthcare.

The activity featured an orientation on the social workers programs and services in the institution followed by an open forum participated by OPD hospital staff, patients and their caregivers. Participants were encouraged to partner with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure accessible and holistic health and social services. Moreover, our medical social workers were also given recognition whose compassion, commitment, and unwavering service help address the diverse needs of patients, families, and communities.

The celebration concluded with a renewed pledge among the hospital's medical social workers to uphold professionalism, compassion, and excellence in service. Overall, the event inspired continued dedication to public service, and reaffirmed Ormoc District Hospital's commitment to supporting the noble mission of social workers in advancing the health and well-being of every Filipino through unity and bayanihan, particularly those belonging to vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society.

In line with the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 (𝐏𝐇𝐀) 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧, an initiative that encourages its member hospitals to strengthen environmental stewardship through meaningful and sustainable actions, 𝐎𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 (𝐎𝐃𝐇) conducted a 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 on the vacant lot at the back of the hospital in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). This environmental initiative aims to improve the community's well-being by reducing urban heat, lowering energy costs through natural shade, and filtering air pollutants.

There were 52 fruit-bearing tree seedlings planted during the event. This was composed of 5 cacao, 5 mango, 10 guyabano, 10 marang, 10 nangka, 2 lansones and 10 caimito tree seedlings.

Ormoc District Hospital (ODH) celebrated Day 1 of its 65th Founding Anniversary with a pre-pageant of Mr. and Mrs. ODH. This was participated by 12 candidates representing the different areas of the hospital.

A welcome message was delivered by Dr. Angelina R. Chua-Viovicente, Chief of Clinics, followed by an opening message by our Chief of Hospital, Dra. Eden E. Bague, FPPS, MMHOA. Mr. Juwie Ladrera, AdHoc Member and Support Supervisor of the Provincial Health Office from the Province of Leyte, also gave a message in behalf of the province.

The 12 candidates had their grand production number during this event. But, only the Top 5 candidates moved forward to the final round of Mr. and Mrs. ODH the next day.

National Infection Prevention and Control Week Celebration 2026.
Poster-Making Contest, Short Talk on IPC Protocols and a Fun Game on Proper Wearing of PPEs.

In line with the DOH celebration of the National Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Week last July 6-10, 2026, Ormoc District Hospital (ODH) under the Province of Leyte conducted an advocacy program through a poster-making contest, a short talk on IPC protocols in the hospital and a fun game on the proper wearing of PPEs.

This highlights the celebration’s theme which is “Building Responsive IPC Systems: Strengthening Monitoring, Collaboration, and Resilience.” The contest slogan which guided the participants was “Together, Let’s Build a Safer, Healthier ODH.”
