Meet Tatay Hesus. đź’™

At 82 years old, he was living in a place with no electricity, no bathroom, and no steady source of food or support — surviving only on the kindness of people who occasionally gave him money.

A friend couldn’t bear to see him living like that and brought him to our center. We knew we couldn’t turn our backs on him.

Today, Tatay Hesus is now a beloved resident of I Am Free. He says he’s so happy to finally sit at a table with people, enjoy meals together, and have someone to talk to.

I Am Free is more than a recovery center — it’s a home and a family. We open our doors and our hearts to those in need. ❤️

Transformation in progress at I Am Free Recovery Center! 🙌

Meet Kevin (on the left) — Less than two weeks ago, he came to our food pantry just to get a food pack. While there, he opened up about his fear of going home because of the drugs surrounding him. Kevin, has been staying at the center since then and is now happily serving at the center and the community.

In the middle is Richard — our newest scholar. Two days ago, he walked into the center and bravely asked, “Can you take me in? I want to change my life and stop using drugs.” Welcome to the family, Richard!

The brothers surrounding them have already walked this same road. They have overcome their addictions and are now walking in victory, living proof that real change is possible.

This is what I Am Free Recovery Center is all about — meeting people in their lowest moments and guiding them toward lasting freedom in Christ.

If you’re struggling, there is hope. If you know someone who needs help, tag them. Recovery is possible!

Dear friends and community members in Tacloban,

At our food pantry, we remain committed to helping those facing the greatest immediate need.
Our current priority is to serve first:

• Single parents
• Parents/families with no current source of income
• Persons with disabilities (PWD)
• Senior citizens (60+)

These groups will continue to receive priority access to our available food resources during distribution hours.

We deeply appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we work to support our most vulnerable neighbors first.
