James Cameron shared how Forks Over Knives influenced his decision to go vegan.
The documentary is rooted in the groundbreaking research of Dr. T. Colin Campbell, whose work helped define the whole-food, plant-based approach to health.

That same evidence forms the foundation of the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate, a globally respected program with 24,000+ graduates—from scientists and physicians to health coaches and lifelong learners. Link in bio for more info on our certificate program:

High blood pressure is often called the “silent killer” because it usually has no symptoms, yet it increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease.

One of the most effective tools for helping prevent and manage high blood pressure may already be on your plate.

A recent survey found that while 6 in 10 Americans are concerned about high blood pressure, only about a quarter know that plant-based diets can help lower it.

The research is clear: Eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, and other plant foods is associated with healthier blood pressure and a lower risk of hypertension.

Your hydration status doesn’t just affect your body; it also impacts your mood and brain health. Our brain is 75 percent water. So, when we get dehydrated, our brain can actually shrink! Even mild dehydration has been shown to change our brain function.

Not drinking enough fluids has also been shown to increase sleepiness and fatigue, lower energy, and reduce alertness. It may even increase feelings of confusion.

Staying hydrated can impact our long-term health, too. Studies suggest that proper hydration may lower our risk of developing heart disease and cancer.

Unless you have a condition, like heart or kidney failure, or your physician advises you to restrict your fluid intake, Dr. Greger’s Daily Dozen recommendation is to get at least five 12 oz servings of water or tea per day (60 oz total). Get inspired by http://bit.ly/DDchallenge.

We often hear that modern life has triggered an epidemic of sleep deprivation, resulting in rising rates of obesity and chronic disease. But when researchers looked at objective data across decades, adult sleep duration hasn’t changed much. https://see.nf/48UUgRF

Across large population studies, a consistent pattern emerges: Both short and long sleep durations are associated with increased risks of chronic disease and premature death. The lowest risk is observed with around seven hours of sleep a night.

About seven hours a night is also linked to lower risk of cognitive decline and diabetes, and aligns with what’s been observed in pre-industrial populations living without modern technology.

Sleep isn’t just rest. It’s an active process that clears waste from the brain and supports long-term health.

The takeaway: Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep each night.

What happens when patients stop taking them? For many, the challenge isn’t just weight regain—it’s maintaining the support needed for long-term health.

🌈 Eat the rainbow, nourish the whole body.

Different colors in fruits and vegetables provide different phytochemicals, vitamins, and antioxidants, each with unique benefits. Red foods contain lycopene and anthocyanins, orange and yellow foods provide carotenoids for eye and immune health, green foods are rich in lutein and plant compounds that support bones and healthy aging, and blue and purple foods contain anthocyanins that help protect blood vessels and support brain health.

No single food does it all, but together, colorful plants create a powerful foundation for lifelong health.

Good nutrition isn't only about preventing disease—it's also about supporting health at every stage of life.

The foods we eat day after day can influence how we feel, how we age, and how our bodies respond to illness. While healthy eating habits started early in life can help reduce the risk of chronic disease, nutrition remains a powerful tool even after a diagnosis.
