What if a tree could keep a secret?

The almaciga tree grows high in the Philippine forest. Its resin — Manila copal — comes slowly like amber beads, gathered by hand. Tapped, never cut down.

We put it at the center of Hello, Silence. Woody, warm, a little like old paper.

Almaciga Resin. Black tea. Australian Sandalwood. Vintage Vanilla.

�Lola is finishing her masters at ISIPCA. She knows Vetiver Java, it’s the one most perfumers build with. She’s smelling Vetiver Filipina for the first time.�
Creamier. Cleaner. Less smokey. More nutty.�Same plant, different soil. �
The Philippines grows materials the global perfume library has not catalogued yet. We are working on that.

What would it take to actually stop for a while?

We asked a room of people who rarely stop — leaders, thinkers, the ones who make things happen. To stop. For one afternoon. No agenda. No target to hit. No outcome to report on Monday.
It wasn’t a fragrance launch. Just a quiet afternoon shared with each other. What happened was something we can’t easily put in words. But it left an imprint. You could see it on the way out. People left slower than they arrived.

This was An Afternoon of Pause. The first of them.
