📌 Bakit Kailangan ang Tetanus Shot Kapag May Kagat o Gasgas ng Hayop?

Ang tetanus ay impeksiyong dulot ng bacteria na tinatawag na Clostridium tetani, na maaaring matagpuan sa maraming bahagi ng kapaligiran, lalo na sa mga maruruming bagay o lugar. Pumapa*ok ito sa katawan kapag may bukas na sugat, tulad ng kagat o gasgas.

Kahit maliit na sugat ay maaaring maging daanan ng bacteria. Dahil hindi natin nakikita kung nakapa*ok na ito, at kung matagal na ang huling tetanus shot (mahigit 5 taon), ibinibigay ang Tetanus shot upang maiwasan ang tetanus infection, na maaaring magdulot ng matinding paninigas ng kalamnan at seryosong komplikasyon.
