💙❤️LIGTAS TIGDAS: Peñablanca Kicks Off Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity! 💉🛡️

BAYAN NG PEÑABLANCA, CAGAYAN | AUGUST 11, 2026

Today, August 11, 2026, the Municipality of Peñablanca officially kicked off its Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) at Barangay Dodan, Peñablanca, Cagayan, bringing together health workers, local officials, community leaders, and constituents in a shared commitment to protect every child from vaccine-preventable diseases.

The kick-off activity was attended and supported by representatives from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD), Local Government Unit of Peñablanca, Barangay Officials, Rural Health Unit (RHU) Staff, and constituents from Barangays Dodan, Camasi, and Centro.

The MR-SIA is a nationwide supplemental immunization campaign designed to strengthen protection against measles and rubella, two highly contagious diseases that can cause serious complications, particularly among young children. Through this activity, eligible children are provided an additional opportunity to receive protection against these vaccine-preventable diseases.

👶 Who are included in the MR-SIA?

The campaign targets children 6–59 months old, including those who may have previously received measles-containing vaccines, in accordance with the campaign guidelines.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their eligible children to the nearest health center or designated vaccination site during the campaign period and coordinate with their local health workers for vaccination schedules and requirements.

🛡️ Why is MR-SIA important?

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect children and communities from measles and rubella. Increasing vaccination coverage helps close immunity gaps, prevent outbreaks, and reduce the risk of serious illness and complications.

The success of this campaign depends not only on our health workers but also on the active participation of parents, barangay officials, community leaders, and the entire community.

The Municipality of Peñablanca expresses its sincere appreciation to all the agencies, offices, barangay officials, health workers, and community members who participated in today’s kick-off and continue to support the protection of our children.

Together, let us continue working toward a healthier and safer Peñablanca where every child is protected and every family is empowered to make informed decisions about vaccination.

💙💛 BAKUNADO. PROTEKTADO. LIGTAS.

Ligtas Kami, Ligtas Lahat!
