52nd National Nutrition Month Celebration | Week 4 💚🌿
The fourth and final week of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience and 52nd National Nutrition Month Celebration was successfully conducted in the barangays of Cabasan, Cabbo, Bical, and Baliuag, marking the culmination of a month-long campaign dedicated to promoting proper nutrition, healthier communities, and disaster resilience throughout the Municipality of Peñablanca.
This initiative was made possible through the steadfast support of the Local Government Unit of Peñablanca under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Marilyn Julia Taguinod, Chairperson of the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC), together with the unwavering support of Vice Mayor Washington M. Taguinod and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, whose continued commitment to health and nutrition programs has been instrumental in bringing essential services closer to every Peñablanqueño.
The activity was spearheaded by the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Peñablanca, headed by our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Jane Frances D. Taguinod, together with our DTTB, Dr. Bonna Bangayan-Tega and our Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Emily Eloisa Taguinod, in collaboration with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), barangay officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), and other committed partners.
Residents actively participated in the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign, which highlighted the importance of proper nutrition, maternal and child health, environmental stewardship, and disaster preparedness. The integrated outreach also provided free medical consultations, free medicines and vitamins, Buntis Kits for pregnant women, and eggs and milk for identified malnourished children and pregnant women, including teenage mothers.
The activity also facilitated PhilHealth YAKAP Program registration, improving access to essential healthcare services for community members. In support of food security and sustainable nutrition, the Municipal Agriculture Office distributed vegetable seeds to barangay officials for propagation and eventual distribution to households within their communities.
The successful completion of this final week marks the culmination of the municipality’s month-long Nutrition Month celebration, reflecting the strong collaboration among the Local Government Unit, partner agencies, barangay officials, and community stakeholders in advancing the health and well-being of every Peñablancaño.
The Rural Health Unit of Peñablanca extends its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Mayor Marilyn Julia Taguinod, Vice Mayor Washington M. Taguinod, the Sangguniang Bayan, partner agencies, barangay officials, BHWs, BNSs, volunteers, and all community members whose unwavering support and active participation made this initiative a resounding success. Your collective efforts continue to strengthen our shared vision of a healthier, better-nourished, and more disaster-resilient Municipality of Peñablanca.
As we conclude this year’s Nutrition Month celebration, let us carry forward the spirit of collaboration and continue making nutrition, health, and resilience a priority every day—for every family, every barangay, and every Peñablancaños.
