5 Loaves and 2 Fish
(PLE Testimony)
A few months ago, the PRC announced that the Physician Licensure Exam would be moved one month earlier than scheduled. That left me with just 5 weeks to review after our PGI graduation. It felt impossible.
I was reminded of Jesus’ miracle in Galilee, when He fed the 5,000 with five loaves and two fish, showing that God could multiply something so small, maybe He could do the same with what little I had.
Then, just days before the first exam, my second child had health issues. I kept asking the Lord, “Lord, bakit ngayon pa?” But my husband would remind me, “Sakto lang ‘yan, may purpose si Lord.” So I paused my review for a few days. We went to the lab for her tests, and instead of staying up late to study, I stayed up monitoring her temperature. Still, the thought remained: five loaves and two fish.
Exam day came. During Physiology, I felt completely unprepared. The questions were unfamiliar, the cases were soooooo overwhelming. It felt like I only had a handful of answers I was sure of (5pts lang ang sure ko sa physio🥲) Again, I whispered to myself, five loaves and two fish.
After the first two days of the exam, we had 5 days left to prepare for the clinical subjects. But this time, I was the one who got sick. I was convinced I wouldn’t make it. I thought, “Wala na. I won’t pass.” But even then, the reminder didn’t change: five loaves and two fish.
Then the waiting game starts…
It’s a different kind of struggle, to pray so hard for something and still end with, “Your will be done.” Some nights, doubt would creep in: “What if it’s not God’s will yet?” But I kept surrendering those thoughts, choosing to trust even when I didn’t understand. Because in the end, this was never just about me, it was always about Him.
I don’t want to overspiritualize this journey, but the truth is, this is all I had: God’s grace and His faithfulness. “Those who trust in Him will not be forsaken.”

Five loaves and two fish are small, insufficient on their own. But once placed in His hands, they became more than enough. He still multiplies. He still provides. Miracles still happen. All glory, honor, and praise belong to God alone.
