Pray for Mindanao

The officers and members of PNA Zone 3, Inc. join the nation in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Mindanao following the powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the region on June 8, 2026.

Loving and Merciful God,

Our hearts are with the people of Mindanao. In this moment of vulnerability, we ask You to draw near to every family, every child, every elder, and every community affected by the earthquake.

Be their refuge when homes no longer feel secure. Be their strength when fear threatens to overwhelm them. Be their comfort in the long hours of waiting and recovery.

We pray for those who have suffered injuries, those who have lost loved ones, and those whose lives have been suddenly changed by this disaster. Hold them close and surround them with compassionate hands and caring hearts.

Bless the nurses, physicians, rescue workers, emergency responders, volunteers, and all who are serving on the frontlines. As they answer calls for help, grant them wisdom in their decisions, steadiness in their work, and protection in every place they are sent.

Lord, teach us nurses to respond generously to the needs of our fellow Filipinos and to be instruments of Your healing wherever we are called to serve.

We entrust Mindanao to Your loving care. May Your peace calm anxious hearts, Your light guide those in darkness, and Your grace sustain every community in the days ahead.

This we pray in Your most Holy Name,
Amen

Proud moments for Philippine Nurses Association Zone 3 as our past and present officers and members from World Citi Medical Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, and other institutions came together to participate in the Philippine Nurses Association - National Office 10th Summer Conference held at SMX Convention Center Clark on May 12, 2026.

Gatherings like this remind us of the value of staying connected as a nursing community, learning from one another, sharing experiences, and continuing to grow together as professionals and leaders.

We encourage more nurses to take part in activities like this, not only for professional development, but also for the mentorship, and sense of community that come with being involved in PNA.

PNA Zone 3 remains proud of every nurse who continues to represent the organization with excellence and dedication.

Continuing its commitment to strengthen and unite the nursing profession, Philippine Nurses Association Zone 3 successfully held its Membership Caravan last May 18, 2026 at Far Eastern University – Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, creating another opportunity to connect with nurses who share the passion for service, leadership, and professional solidarity.

Representing PNA Zone 3 during the activity were VP for Finance Shella Paragua, Membership and Welfare Committee Chair Dir. Caroline Balmadrid, Co-Chair Dir. Laura Macalalad, Dir. Emma Alonzo and NOMELEC member Ephraim Malicsi. NOMELEC Chairperson Jose Andrelin dela Cruz also visited the caravan in support of the initiative.

More than membership, the caravan served as a meaningful space for engagement, collaboration, and renewed commitment to strengthening the nursing profession through active participation and volunteerism.

We express our heartfelt appreciation to FEU-NRMF Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Maria Rosario Chiu, for her valuable support and partnership in making this activity possible.

Together, we continue to nurture a nursing community that is connected, empowered, and committed to service.

The Membership Caravan of Philippine Nurses Association Zone 3 is in full swing as we proudly joined the Nurses Week Celebration of Marikina Valley Medical Center on May 12, 2026.

Leading the activity were Zone 3 President Patricia Angeles together with Membership and Welfare Co-Chair Dir. Laura Macalalad, and member Regina Calderon of PNA Zone 3 NOMELEC together with Dir. Emma Alonzo and Dir. Arnie Armeza, who warmly welcomed nurses interested in becoming part of the growing PNA community.

Beyond the membership booth, PNA Zone 3 also took part in the lecture series through HOD Member Betty F. Merritt, one of the proponents of the Zone’s 8 CARE Initiatives. In line with the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” HOD Merritt shared an inspiring discussion on “8 CARE Initiatives – Empowering Nurses in Practice,” highlighting how volunteerism, leadership, service, and advocacy continue to strengthen and empower the nursing profession. More than 130 nurses from MVMC and student nurses from affiliated institutions participated onsite and online.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Nursing and Patient Care Services Division Director of MVMC, Ivy Gay Alcantara, together with Loverly de Juan, Siti delos Reyes, Sophia Jesalva, and the rest of the MVMC Nursing Leadership for warmly welcoming PNA Zone 3 and for making us part of your meaningful Nurses Week celebration.

PNA Zone 3 remains committed to building a stronger and more united nursing community — one empowered nurse at a time.

Nursing care goes beyond people. It also includes protecting the environment that sustains every community.

Guided by the Care for the Environment initiative of Philippine Nurses Association Zone 3, nurses continue to take part in meaningful efforts such as tree planting and environmental activities that promote healthier and more sustainable communities.

These simple yet purposeful actions reflect the nursing profession’s 𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓭 𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓹𝓸𝓷𝓼𝓲𝓫𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂 to care not only for the present generation, but also for the future. Every tree planted today is an investment in healthier lives tomorrow.

Every nurse carries a unique story, shaped by experience and service.

This International Nurses Week, Philippine Nurses Association Zone 3 recognizes the nurses and volunteer leaders who continue to share their time, skills, and expertise in service of the nursing community.

Across clinical practice, education, research, public health, and community service, nurses continue to go beyond their professional roles to support one another and strengthen the profession through 𝓿𝓸𝓵𝓾𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓶.

Through every act of service, big or small, we help build a stronger, more united, and more compassionate nursing community.
