HIV is transmitted through three primary modes:

➡ Unprotected and penetrative sexual in*******se (a**l, vaginal, or oral) with a person who has HIV
➡ Infected blood and blood products through contaminated transfusions or shared needles/syringes
➡ Infected mother-to-baby transmission during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding

HIV is NOT spread through hugging, sharing food, saliva, or casual contact. Knowing how it actually spreads helps us protect ourselves and each other from stigma and misinformation.

These two terms are used interchangeably all the time, but they're not the same thing.

AIDS is the most advanced stage of HIV, and it can be prevented. With early diagnosis, proper treatment, and consistent care, many people living with HIV never reach that stage at all.
