💡 Break the Silence, Save a Life: Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers among Filipino men, yet it is often left undiscussed due to hesitation, fear, or stigma. 🩺🛡️

This Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the PCS Cancer Commission Foundation wants to remind every Tatay, Papa, Tito, and brother: Talking about prostate health isn’t a sign of weakness—it is an act of strength and love for your family.

In our advocacy for person-centered and quality cancer care, we fight for a healthcare system where men feel empowered to seek help early, without fear of judgment, cost, or lack of access. When detected early, prostate cancer is highly manageable.

🎯 What Every Filipino Man Needs to Know:

Know the Risks: Risk increases as men age, especially for those over 50 or those with a family history of cancer.

Spot the Signs: Persistent changes in urination, difficulty starting or stopping, or lower back pain should never be ignored.

Early Consultation: Discussing a simple PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test or digital re**al exam (DRE) with your doctor can make all the difference.

Quality care means seeing the man behind the medical chart—understanding his fears, protecting his dignity, and navigating him safely from screening to survivorship.

🧤 Take Action This Month:
1️⃣ Consult Your Doctor: If you are 50 or older, ask your physician about prostate screenings.
2️⃣ Encourage the Men You Love: Wives, daughters, and sons—let’s remind the men in our lives that their health matters.
3️⃣ Spread the Message: Share this post to help break the stigma and start lifesaving conversations.

Let’s bridge the gaps in men's health and work toward a healthier, cancer-free future for every Filipino. 💙🇵🇭

Encourage a friend or family member today! Tag a man who needs a gentle reminder to prioritize his he

🚭 Your Health is Your Greatest Wealth: World No To***co Day

Prevention is the first step in Quality Cancer Care. This World No To***co Day, the PCS Cancer Commission Foundation reminds every Filipino that the power to reduce cancer risk is in your hands. To***co doesn't just affect the lungs; it impacts the entire person and every member of the family.

✨ Why we advocate for a To***co-Free PH:
Lower Risk: To***co use is linked to over a dozen types of cancer.
Better Outcomes: For those already in the fight, quitting improves the body's ability to heal and respond to treatment.
Community Health: Protecting our loved ones from secondhand smoke is a cornerstone of person-centered care.
Choosing a tobacco-free life is an act of love—for yourself and for those who depend on you. Today is the perfect day to start a healthier chapter. 🌬️💙

💡 Words From the Expert: A Unified Front Against Bladder Cancer

"Urinary bladder cancer in the Philippines is a growing challenge that demands not only clinical expertise but also true multidisciplinary collaboration. By working together—urologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and allied specialists—we can transform outcomes and bring hope to every Filipino patient facing this disease." — Dr. Paul Anthony L. Sunga, President, Philippine Society of Urologic Oncologists (PSUO)

At the Philippine College of Surgeons Cancer Commission Foundation, we stand fully behind this powerful call for unity. 🤝✨

In our advocacy for person-centered and quality cancer care, we recognize that no single specialty can fight this disease alone. Transforming patient outcomes requires a collective approach where the patient's individual needs are placed at the very center of the clinical puzzle.

🧩 Why Multidisciplinary Collaboration is Key:
Holistic Treatment Plans: Bringing together surgical precision and advanced oncology to tailor therapies for each unique patient.

Accurate & Timely Diagnostics: Ensuring radiologists and pathologists work hand-in-hand for early and precise staging.

Continuous Hope: Coordinating care across all allied specialists to support the patient's total quality of life, from diagnosis through recovery.

When our medical communities unite, we build a stronger, more resilient healthcare system. Let us continue to break down boundaries, collaborate seamlessly, and ensure that high-quality care is accessible to every Filipino fighting bladder cancer. 💙🇵🇭

🌙 ✨ Eid Mubarak: Honoring Sacrifice, Community, and Care

The Philippine College of Surgeons Cancer Commission Foundation wishes our Muslim brothers and sisters a blessed, meaningful, and peaceful Eid Al-Adha. 🕊️💙

Eid Al-Adha is a solemn reminder of the profound power of devotion, selflessness, and sacrifice for the greater good. In our advocacy for person-centered and quality cancer care, we see these exact values lived out every single day across the Philippines:
👨‍⚕️ In our healthcare heroes who sacrifice their time, comfort, and energy to stand as a shield of healing for patients in need.
💪 In our patient-warriors and their families who display ultimate sacrifice, resilience, and faith as they navigate the difficult journey toward recovery.

True to the spirit of this sacred day, our foundation remains deeply committed to a healthcare system built on health equity and compassion—ensuring that quality cancer care reaches every community, family, and person, leaving no one behind.

As you gather with your loved ones to share meals, stories, and blessings, may your homes be filled with hope, good health, and peace.

Eid Mubarak from all of us at the PCS Cancer Commission Foundation! 🕌✨

💡 Words From the Expert: Protecting the Women We Love

"Cervical cancer remains one of the most preventable and treatable cancers — yet many women continue to lose their lives because of lack of awareness, lack of screening, and delayed treatment.
This Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, let us remind every woman that prevention is possible. HPV vaccination, regular screening, early consultation, and timely treatment can save lives.
As healthcare professionals, advocates, families, and communities, we all play a role in protecting the women we love. Let us continue to spread awareness, encourage screening, encourage HPV vaccination, and fight the stigma surrounding gynecologic cancers." — Dr. Marie Aleli De Castro-Malig, President, Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of the Philippines (SGOP)

At the Philippine College of Surgeons Cancer Commission Foundation, we echo this vital call to action. In our advocacy for person-centered and quality cancer care, we believe that a future free from cervical cancer is absolutely within our reach—if we work together. 🤝✨

🏁 Our Collective Roadmap to Elimination:
✅HPV Vaccination: Protecting our youth as the definitive first line of defense.
✅Regular Screening: Breaking down the fear and making routine check-ups a standard for every woman.
✅Timely, Quality Treatment: Ensuring that when a case is found, the patient is seamlessly navigated through a supportive health system without delay.

Quality care means seeing the person behind the diagnosis. Let’s eliminate the stigma, empower the women in our lives with knowledge, and ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to every Filipina, no matter where she is. 🌸💙
