Philippine Children's Ministries Network (PCMN) is a network of 54 faith-based organizations and participating churches with ministries for children-at-risk. PCMN serves as the Commission on Children of the Philippine Council of the Evangelical Churches, a member of the Philippine Interfaith Movement Against Human Trafficking (PIMAHT), and the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) - National C

hild Protection Working Group. "Children enjoying the fullness of life in a loving and nurturing environment" as an organization's purpose statement, has guided the Network, its members, and partners to endeavor in unifying the Body of Christ to become a strong voice for and on behalf of the children and youth at risk. For its 5-year plan, all its endeavors are in line with the three (3) strategic directions: End Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC), Child Protection in Emergencies, and Family Strengthening. As the Philippines became the hotspot for online sexual exploitation of children since 2018, PCMN invests in increasing communities' capacities to prevent OSEC, works towards policy and systems reform, and provides aftercare services to rescued children. In partnership with local, national, and global stakeholders, including the church, PCMN works towards ending OSEC.

PCMN participated as a grantee to the EU-Governance in Justice Program, EU-GOJUST Effective Project Management for Access to Justice training with the support of the European Union. PCMN's Program Manager Ma. Cristina Jurado and Finance Manager Sally Salvatierra represented PCMN in the 3-day training held at Clark, Pampanga. PCMN implements the Enhancing Barangay-Based Justice for Abused and Exploited Children of Barangay Payatas which runs for 18 months.

As it's 28th year anniversary offering, PCMN conducts a webinar on "Families at the Heart of Child Protection". The webinar is based on a a Philippine research conducted this year in partnership with the Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary, and was part of a tri-country research likewise conducted in Honduras and Zimbabwe with the support of Viva Denmark.

The research presentation examined how families can serve as key actors in protecting children's rights and well-being. The Philippine study highlights both the strengths of Filipino families and the challenges they face.

Other speakers in the webinar include Ms. Maloi Salumbides, Head of the PCEC Family Commission, broadcaster, author, trainer and a family advocate, and Ms. Cherry Venelin A. Nicdao, Training Officer of the Masayang Pamilya (MaPa) Org., Inc.

This is open free to all advocates of families as the primary defense for children's protection.

Today, PCMN met with representatives of Association of Foundations (AF) (AF), Paola Tiongson and Philippine Business for Social Progress, Cherry Rose Pinon on a local convergence project Zero Poverty 2030, for a potential partnership in two areas in Negros. ZeP2030 goal is to build coalitions in high poverty areas, conduct of family profiling in cities and municipalities, identify needs and convergence points, implement project initiatives and assess impact.

PCMN local network Alliance of Children's Ministries in Negros Inc. Board member, Engr. Japeth Peloton and Chair, Ms. Suzette Buala, are at hand to leverage convergence with another NGO Ilog Kinderhomes Director, Ms. Gilda Cadagat, to respond to needs of impoverished families and communities in the province of Negros Occidental. PCMN faciliated the engagement of ACMN into the partnership with AF and PBSP, initiallly covering for the legal requirements and providing linkages and technical support.

At our weekly staff devotional meeting we learned about alternative family care for at risk children, and how the Bible mandates giving aid to the foreigners, homeless and vulnerable among you, and in the realization of the fact that we were once lost ourselves and is 'adopted' into the family of God.

Btw, we continue to use the Understanding God's Heart for Child Protection and Safeguarding book as our session guide for our weekly devotionals, as published by Langham Publishing.

Dangerous road to access Barangay San Jose for an Operation Safe camp today.

Our implementing partner's worker says, "We can't go as far as right to the side of the road, as only half of the road is cemented, far to right is a cliff."
The 7.8 earthquake has resulted to landslide with rains causing further damage, and road repair has not started.

Operation Safe psychological first aid is PCMn's response to the deadly 7.8 earthquake last June 8 in Sarangani province. Operation Safe is conducted for 1,000 children with the support from Food for the Hungry Philippines, and is implemented in partnership with Share an Opportunity in General Santos City and Mindanao Children's Ministries Network in Glan, Sarangani. Soon, the team will also conduct in the municipality of Malapatan, also in Sarangani province.

It is comforting to know that children can have fun while learning, laugh, sing and dance towards healing from their traumatic experiences from the strong earthquake and its relentless aftershocks.

The Church Christian Convergence of Dasmarinas City, a local network of PCMN, worked with the city as barangay chaplains, awarded certificates of completion to 228 Barangay personnel from 11 barangays of the city. The once a week session attended by the barangay personnel focuses on sessions on Filipino core values such as Maka Diyos, Maka Tao, Maka Bansa, Maka Kalikasan, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, and May Pag-Asa.

The local network is engaged with the city governance by building local connections and relationships, which is an effective strategy for opening up to the network's advocacy on child protection.

The PCMN in collaboration with the QC Children’s Association, conducted a Children and Youth Consultation on Child Protection at Camp Crame Elementary School, Quezon City, on August 21, 2026.

The Consultation gathered together children and youth to share their experiences and perspectives on safety, and recognize the risks that may affect children and young people. Beyond identifying risks, participants also explored what a safer and more child-friendly community could look like.

PCMN continues to support and believe that the voices, ideas, and aspirations of children and youth are powerful catalysts for creating safer and more child-friendly communities where every child can thrive.

Thirty-five (35) parents and primary adult caregivers of children gathered at the Philippine Gospel Church, Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, with the theme “Guarding God’s Gifts: Parents Protecting Children Against Child Exploitation".

The activity equipped participants with valuable knowledge and practical guidance on the prevention of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), child safeguarding, children’s circle of care, and building safer homes for children.

Through meaningful discussions and a pledge of commitment, the 35 participants reaffirmed their shared responsibility to protect children from all forms of abuse and exploitation.

This activity was conducted under the auspices of Reduce Exploitation and Abuse of Children Together (REACT) Project, in partnership with the Quezon City Pastoral Movement (QCPM) and Pastoral Movement Connect Global Team, Inc.

At our staff weekly meeting, PCMN hosted a speaker from CyberGuardiansPh Executive Director Paulo Sangil on an orientation on AI and its effects on people. The activity likewise measures participants readiness to use and accept AI, and learn likewise on several forms and mode where it is used to harm people, including children. PCMN as an advocate of online safety is interested to explore further a future collaboration with CyberGuardiansPh.

The short orientation meeting leads to an invitation to access an online course on AI for those interested to further their learnings and in maximizing these new knowledge to protect children.
