"No act of kindness however small, is ever wasted"

Thanks to your generosity, we raised money to help the children of My Children's House of Hope and the workers of Foundation for These-Abled Persons Inc. All these funds will go to the purpose of MCHH children's educational needs and the construction of the store for FTI for the goods that they make and sell.

Let us continue empowering the lives of our PWDs in our own little ways. Thank you for supporting Twinkle!

1. What is your observation on the current state of support for PWDs in the Philippines?”
“Many people nowadays are more accepting and understanding towards persons with disabilities. Although, we cannot discount the fact that there are some more who experience discrimination, bullying, or insults from people who think of them less as a person because of the disabilities they have. On this matter, I think we should continue giving awareness.

Over the years, and as per Universal Health Care Program, there have been programs developed to support people with disabilities. But there are still big gaps… those programs and the people with disabilities still need the support of society. Moreover, we hope programs and policies that our government will develop should be more inclusive.”

2. How do you think the donations can potentially help the PWDs?
The support and help donors will give to the people with disabilities, no matter how big or small can make a difference in their lives. If enough money is raised, it will be to help in obtaining assistive devices, like customized wheelchairs, that could help them to move around, hearing aids and progressive eyeglasses help them participate more; communication devices that they can use as their voice and express themselves. It can also potentially give support for the total rehabilitation program; such as occupational, physical therapy is critical in transforming their lives. For many people with disabilities, it would empower them and help them reach their full potentials of their abilities.

As Aesop said: No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.

So, the donation of funds, whether big or small, is an act of kindness; and it is valuable.

Donate and help our deaf children get the education they need. :)

My Children’s House of Hope strives to provide education for around 300 deaf students. However, due to lack of money for transportation and food, these children often have to postpone or stop schooling.

Help these kids continue their education.

Our funds will go to the particular needs for our partner organizations: My Children's House of Hope, Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders and Foundation for These Abled Persons.

Donations will help MCHH better their ability to provide food for the impoverished children enrolled in their school for nutrition; PSOD improve monetary resources in acquiring medicine and treatment for children with rare diseases; and FTI for the improvement of the quality of education they give their employed PWDS

Take part of our initiative and empower People with Disabilities with your blessings!

Let's take a look at two of My Children's House of Hope teachers: Ma'am Leny and Ma'am Arlyne

Ma’am Leny Salazar and Ma’am Arlyne Opina started their journey in Talking Hands Pre-School in 2009. They had learnt sign language for some years already; but they felt they could they could do something more. It was time to share their time and skill with more people.

In their search for a worthwhile institution, they met Pastor Joseph, founder of My Children’s House of Hope (MCHH). Eventually, they got hired as part of the Talking Hands Pre-school and received the necessary training. Through Talking Hands, they have shared their knowledge with many children in the Payatas area; as well as those from their partner schools.

They have had an amazing number of blessed years in MCHH, and they hope to make differences to the Deaf especially people in My Children’s House of Hope.

We see from these teachers that if you care about the people you’re working with, giving all your efforts for them will be spent as the best time of your life.*

Like Ma’am Leny and Ma’am Arlyne, you too can help these kids. Learn more about how you can donate here: http://bit.ly/2aDB1Qh

Aaron is a sweet four-year old child who was deaf ever since the age of just four months. Upon entering the pre-school year, her mother Jessibelle was trying to find the right place for her son to learn and to feel welcome, and she found out My Children's House of Hope, wherein she enrolled Aaron in the Talking Hands program.

Now Aaron is actively participating in activities and excels well. He is proving that all children, whether disabled or not, are given with equal intelligence and opportunity to play a role in the society.

By donating to Twinkle, you can share your light with many children like Aaron.

By donating to Twinkle, can share your light with many children.

Meet Lowell: The Angel with the Sweetest Smile.

Lowell Fabros is a sweet kid. He has the bright smile of a 3-year-old boy. He was diagnosed as Deaf when he was 1 year & 10 months old. The doctor also found out that he had Global Delay Development.

Three months ago, his mother brought him to Manila and enrolled him to the Talking Hands Pre-School program at My Children’s House of Hope (MCHH). There, Lowell and his mother felt like they found a sanctuary, a home with a lovely family.

For them, MCHH is not only a school but also a community, and a place to belong. Lowell likes to play around and draw pictures. He’s becoming a smart kid and discovering his talents.
