Naging matagumpay ang ginanap na NBS@30 Community Activity na may temang "Newborn Screening ang Karamay sa Healthy na Buhay!" bilang pagdiriwang sa ika-30 taong anibersaryo ng Newborn Screening (NBS) sa Pilipinas. Ang inisyatibong ito ay naisakatuparan sa pakikipagtulungan ng Newborn Screening Center-NIH (NSC-NIH), DOH Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD), LGU, at Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health (VYLH).

Maraming mga buntis, mga bagong panganak na ina, mga mag-asawang nagpaplanong magpamilya, at iba pang miyembro ng komunidad ang nakiisa at natuto. Ilan sa mga naging tampok sa programa ay ang sesyon sa pagtuturo sa kahalagahan at benepisyo ng Newborn Screening para sa mga sanggol, masayang pagbabahagi ng adbokasiya ng VYLH at pagbibigay-alam sa mga mahahalagang serbisyo ng lokal na health centers para sa ina at anak.

IN PHOTOS: What began in 1996 as a small initiative in selected hospitals, the Philippine Newborn Screening (NBS) Program has evolved into one of the countryโ€™s most successful population-based health programs, sustained by decades of collaboration among healthcare workers, institutions, and government partners.

A thanksgiving reunion brought together pioneering coordinators, clinicians, and advocates of the NBS honoring the first 24 pilot hospitals that laid the foundation of what is now a nationwide public health system reaching millions of Filipino newborns.
