PITAHC successfully conducted its Basic Research Ethics Training on September 2–3, 2026, at the PITAHC Audio Visual Room.

The two-day training was attended by PITAHC staff and facilitated by esteemed resource speakers from the DOST–Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB), Dr. Josephine M. Lumitao and Dr. Ricardo M. Manalastas, Jr.

The activity aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the fundamental principles and ethical considerations in conducting research.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our resource speakers from DOST-PHREB and to all PITAHC staff who actively participated in the training!

Dr. Ruben Caragay, physician and public health specialist, leads “Qi Gong for Vital Aging: Well-Being in Older Adults,” followed by a Guided Qi Gong Demonstration.

Dr. Shelley Ann F. dela Vega, MD, MSc, FPCGM, professor at the UP College of Medicine and Director of the Institute on Aging, NIH-UP Manila, presents “Qi Gong-Meditation on the Health and Wellness of Older People Living in a Select Barangay in Quezon City, National Capital Region.”

Two expert perspectives, one meaningful focus: promoting wellness and healthy aging through Qi Gong and meditation.

HilomX 2026 brings learning to life through inspiring talks and hands-on experiences.

Our first session features Ms. Elizabeth Montenegro-Rye, a yoga educator and the founder of Perfect Soul Center for Education and Healing, Inc., who shares her expertise on “Yoga for Children’s Neurological Wellness: Movement, Breath, and Supportive Care.”

The experience continues with a chair yoga demonstration, providing participants with the opportunity to learn simple movements and experience the practice firsthand.
