Every day, more teenagers and young adults are silently battling depression, anxiety, and thoughts of self-harm often behind smiles, achievements, and perfect posts.💔
Social media was meant to connect us. But for many, 𝒊𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏, 𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒍 𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒖𝒕𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑.
After the pandemic, we couldn’t say no to the students who reached out - high school, college and young adults who needed someone to listen and guide them. That was the main reason why we opened a private clinic in 2022 and began offering BMR Mind and Energy Reset, a holistic session that helps release heavy and stuck energy caused by negative & traumatic experiences while growing up.🌿
At BMR, we’ve seen how mental health struggles are not always about “illness.” They’re often about disconnection from self, from family, from genuine human presence.

In psychology, adolescence and young adulthood are crucial stages of identity formation, a time when they ask, “𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐦 𝐈?” 𝐚𝐧𝐝 “𝐃𝐨 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫?” When these questions are answered by social media instead of real relationships, self-worth becomes fragile.
The constant exposure to “perfect lives” online distorts reality. 𝑼𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒍 𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒙𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆.

🌱 1. 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙨.
Unplug regularly. A few hours of quiet time each day away from screens helps restore mental balance.
💬 2. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚.
Kindness is free. Words can heal or harm. Choose to uplift, not to tear down.
👨👩👧 3. 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚.
Parents, ask your kids what they see, watch, and feel online. Don’t just monitor, connect.
📵 4. 𝙎𝙚𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨.
Avoid using phones during meals or before bedtime. Create “tech-free zones” that encourage real interaction.
💖 5. 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝.
Their value doesn’t depend on likes, followers, or filters it’s built on their character, courage, and kindness.
🕯️ 6. 𝙎𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙.
There’s no shame in asking for help. Reach out to a counselor, teacher, or holistic wellness practitioner when emotions feel too heavy to carry alone.

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you cannot see.
Behind smiles are stories, behind screens are struggles.
Kindness costs nothing but it can mean everything to someone holding on quietly. Before you comment, criticize, or compare… pause.
Choose understanding & compassion over reaction.🕊️
