I have always believed that bawat isa sa atin may purpose in this lifetime. Some are called to become amazing mothers, dedicated policemen, or devoted teachers. Lahat tayo may dahilan kung bakit tayo nandito.
And maybe for Rene, this was his calling—to inspire, to become a role model, and to be someone the youth could truly look up to.
After all, God made him an extraordinary child. A child whom God made sure would be REMEMBERED.
In this social media era where many are becoming selfish, self-centered, and too focused on self-image and validation, maybe we needed someone like Rene—someone God allowed us to witness as an example.
Not a perfect child— kasi wala namang perfect— but a child who knew how to LOVE DEEPLY.
A child who loved and cared for his parents, his siblings, and his friends. And most of all, a child who openly showed his LOVE FOR GOD.
Rene was often seen praying. Nagsusuot siya ng mga damit that carried God’s words. Hindi siya nahihiya sa kanyang faith.
Maybe that was part of his purpose and God’s purpose sa kanya.
And now, even in his passing, God made sure that people would feel Rene’s presence—not just through grief, but through the stories of his kindness, his character, and the way he lived his life.
Through his death, many of us are now witnessing the kind of young man he was.
May we not allow his story to end in mourning alone.
May we carry the lessons he left behind.
May we learn from the way he lived.
And may we apply those lessons in our daily lives.
Sometimes, God uses a life— no matter how short— to awaken so many hearts.
Perhaps that was Rene’s mission all along.
