In Progress: Goat/Sheep Pen 🐐🌿
Livestock, particularly goats, play an important role in our permaculture system. They provide a valuable source of manure, which can be used for composting and vermicomposting. Goats can also help manage vegetation by grazing on suitable grasses and forage, helping keep parts of the farm landscape maintained.
In addition, goats are a valuable source of protein and other farm products. Their integration into the farm contributes to a more sustainable and circular system, where organic materials and available resources are put back into productive use.
From livestock manure to organic fertilizer, and from farm resources back to the soil—every part of the system can contribute to a more sustainable and productive farm.
As a bonus, the goat/sheep pen is being constructed using available and recycled materials, such as bamboo and excess wood, putting existing farm resources to good use while reducing construction costs and waste. 🌱♻️🐐
