Nightfam! Istanbul found a brilliant way to solve TWO problems at once...
When you drop a plastic bottle into these special vending machines, something magical happens - they automatically dispense food for stray dogs! 🐕
The solar-powered "Smart Recycling Boxes" by Pugedon cost the city NOTHING to operate. The recycled bottles pay for the dog food!
With 150,000 stray animals roaming Istanbul's streets, these machines provide reliable meals while tackling Turkey's plastic waste problem (where only 6% of plastic gets recycled!)
Since launching in 2014, neighborhoods with these machines report cleaner streets, less trash scavenging, and more environmental awareness, especially among children. The idea is spreading to other countries too!
