Despite the heavy rains and challenging weather brought by the typhoon, our commitment to continuous learning remained unwavering. Today, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology successfully conducted its Perinatology Conference featuring the topic "Cardiovascular Disorders in Pregnancy." The lecture emphasized the early recognition, comprehensive assessment, and evidence-based management of cardiovascular conditions during pregnancy to achieve the best possible maternal and fetal outcomes.
The conference was followed by the Admission Conference (AdCon), where newly admitted obstetric and gynecologic cases were presented and discussed by our consultants, hospitalists, and residents. Through collaborative case discussions and expert guidance, the team strengthened clinical decision-making, reinforced best practices, and ensured quality, patient-centered care.

No storm can stop a team committed to learning, growing, and providing excellent care for every mother and every baby. Together, we continue to advance our knowledge and skills in our pursuit of excellence in women's healthcare.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology successfully conducted its Morbidity and Mortality Conference as part of its continuing commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and excellence in maternal healthcare.

The conference provided an opportunity for Department head, consultants, hospitalists, and resident physicians to review and discuss significant morbidity and mortality cases. Through evidence-based discussions and multidisciplinary collaboration, the department identified areas for improvement, reinforced clinical standards, and developed recommendations to further enhance patient care and outcomes.

This activity reflects the department's dedication to continuous learning, accountability, and maintaining the highest standards of obstetric and gynecologic practice in support of quality healthcare and accreditation.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology spent the day strengthening knowledge, collaboration, and professional excellence through a series of meaningful activities.

The day began with the Re-Echo Session on Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) to OB and ER physicians, reinforcing evidence-based practices in the timely recognition and management of obstetric emergencies. This was followed by the OB Admission Conference (AdCon), where patient cases were reviewed and discussed to promote continuous learning and quality improvement. The day concluded with the OB Department Meeting, providing an opportunity to discuss departmental updates, align goals, and strengthen teamwork in delivering quality maternal and women's healthcare.

Together, these activities reflect our department's unwavering commitment to continuous education, effective collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence in providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Last July 15, 2026, the OB-Gyne Department conducted its Monthly OB OPD Health Education Session, featuring a lecture by Dr. Ursua on Immunization in Pregnancy.

The session provided patients with evidence-based information on the importance of recommended vaccines during pregnancy, helping expectant mothers make informed decisions for their health and the well-being of their babies. Through initiatives like this, the department remains committed to promoting maternal and child health through continuous patient education.

This morning’s OB Mortality Conference served as an important venue for learning, reflection, and continuous improvement in patient care. Dr. Bertuldo presented and discussed the maternal mortality case from the previous month of May, while Dr. De Jesus presented the mortality case for the current month of June. Both cases generated meaningful discussions and highlighted valuable clinical lessons, emphasizing the importance of timely decision-making, multidisciplinary teamwork, and adherence to evidence-based management.

Through open case reviews and constructive insights from our consultants,hospitalist and residents, the department continues to strengthen its commitment to providing quality and safe maternal care.

To ensure full participation, the conference was conducted through a combination of onsite and hybrid attendance, allowing those who were unable to be physically present to join virtually. This approach successfully achieved 100% attendance, demonstrating the department’s dedication to continuous learning and professional engagement.

Following the conference, the OB Department conducted its staff meeting to discuss departmental updates, concerns, and plans aimed at further improving service delivery and patient outcomes.

Every case teaches us something new, and every discussion brings us one step closer to better care for the mothers and families we serve. 💙

Yesterday's Perinatology Hour was a meaningful learning session in the OB-GYN Department as Dr. Sapira presented a discussion on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, providing valuable insights into its causes, evaluation, and management. The session emphasized the importance of evidence-based practice and compassionate care in supporting patients through one of the most challenging experiences in reproductive health.

Following the lecture, our consultants reviewed the residents' 24-hour gynecology reports, offering guidance and sharing clinical expertise to further enhance patient management and learning. Through continuous education, mentorship, and collaboration, we strengthen our commitment to providing quality maternal and women's healthcare.

Another meaningful learning session in the OB Department as our resident physician presented a rare and intriguing case of Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia (GTN). The case sparked insightful discussions, enhanced clinical knowledge, and emphasized the importance of timely diagnosis and appropriate management.

Through the active participation of our consultants, hospitalist and residents, valuable insights and evidence-based approaches were shared, enriching the learning experience for everyone involved.
