The Pharmacy Department successfully concluded Batch 2 of the In-House Training on Toxicology today at the Oncology Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Wellness Building.

Our sincere appreciation to our Medical Center Chief, Dr. Monserrat S. Chichioco, and Chief Health Program Officer of Allied Health Professional Services, Dr. Jose T. Saporne, together with our Chief Pharmacist, Mam Ma. Luisa M. Gopez, our senior pharmacists, Mam Carolina G. Cavinta and Mam Dianne Marie R. Ambat, and Sir Arvin Dimabuyu for their support and for sharing their expertise throughout the training.

This session further strengthened the teamโ€™s competence in handling toxic exposures, from identification to proper management, supporting our goal of delivering safe and quality patient care.

First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Chief Pharmacist, Mam Ma. Luisa M. Gopez, our senior pharmacists, Mam Carolina G. Cavinta and Mam Dianne Marie R. Ambat, and to our pharmacist trained in toxicology, Sir Arvin Dimabuyu, for facilitating and sharing their expertise in this training.

The Pharmacy Department conducted an Antimicrobial Awareness Lay Fora and Patient Drug Adherence Counseling activity for OPD geriatric patients.

This initiative aimed to promote responsible antibiotic use and strengthen medication adherence among elderly patients, helping ensure safer and more effective treatment outcomes. Through patient-centered education and counseling, we continue to support our geriatric population in managing their medications properly and improving their overall quality of life.

Bringing healthcare closer to the community, the Pharmacy Department successfully conducted Pharmacists to the Barrios activities last February 26, 2026 in Natividad, Guagua, Pampanga, and April 10, 2026 in Barangay Sta. Rita, Lubao, Pampanga.

These initiatives focused on raising awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR), emphasizing the responsible use of antibiotics, the importance of completing prescribed treatments, and the vital role of every individual in preventing the spread of resistance.

Through education and community engagement, we continue to empower patients with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and promote safer, more effective healthcare practices.

Continuing the momentum of strengthening safe medication practices, the Clinical Pharmacy Team of Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital successfully conducted Batch 2 of the In-house Training on the Unit Dose Drug Delivery System (UDDS) last April 6โ€“9, 2026.

This session emphasized consistency in implementing UDDS protocols, reinforcing accuracy in dispensing, and promoting a more patient-centered medication distribution system. It also served as an avenue to further align pharmacy personnel with standardized practices that support efficient and quality healthcare delivery.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Monserrat S. Chichioco (Medical Center Chief) and Dr. Jose T. Saporne (Chief Health Program Officer of Allied Health Professional Services), together with Ma. Luisa M. Gopez (Chief Pharmacist), Carolina G.
