How to Cope and Stay Safe in Extreme Heat💚
*KEEP COOL:
Use air conditioning or a fan, wear light and loose-fitting clothing, and keep skin wet, using a spray bottle or damp sponge and by taking cool showers.
*STAY HYDRATED:
During days of extreme heat, keep drinking water before you feel thirsty, especially if outdoors or performing physical activity.
*PLAN AHEAD:
Cancel or reschedule activities for the coolest part of the day and avoid exercising and being outdoors in the heat, stay indoors for family bonding.
CHECK IN WITH OTHERS:
Let family, friends and neighbours know you are OK or check in with those at increased risk or who may need your support during days of extreme heat.
MONITOR THE WEATHER FORECAST:
To know the heatwave warnings online or via the PAGASA app. Follow the pages of Department of Health to receive heat health warnings.

What is a whooping cough?

Whooping cough, also called pertussis, is a very contagious upper respiratory infection. It usually gives you lengthy and repeated bouts of coughing. These coughing episodes can continue for weeks or even months after you first develop symptoms of the illness.

Safety Tips # 1
Preventive antibiotics, also known as post exposure antimicrobial prophylaxis (PEP), are medicines given to someone that has been exposed to harmful bacteria in order to help prevent them from getting sick.
Safety Tips # 2
CDC recommends practicing good hygiene to prevent the spread of the bacteria that cause whooping cough and other respiratory illnesses.
Safety Tips # 3
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw away used tissues in the waste basket right away.
Safety Tips # 4
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Safety Tips # 5
Cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow if you don't have a tissue. Never cough into your hands because you can spread germs this way

Talk to a doctor and local health. departments if you need to take preventive antibiotics, especially if a baby or pregnant mom is in the households.
