👁️ What is Fungal Keratitis?

🛑 Protect Your Eyes
✔ Wear protective eyewear during farming, gardening, and outdoor work
✔ Never ignore an eye injury, especially from plant material
✔ Avoid self-medicating with eye drops
✔ Seek immediate eye consultation if symptoms develop

Pterygium (“Pugita”)

is a growth of tissue on the white part of the eye that can extend toward the cornea. It is commonly caused by long-term exposure to sunlight, dust, and wind

👁️ Common symptoms:
-Redness
-Irritation or dryness
-Foreign body sensation
-Blurring of vision (in advanced cases)

💊 Management:
-Mild cases: Lubricating eye drops and UV protection (sunglasses, hats)
-Progressive or vision-threatening cases: Surgical removal with graft to reduce recurrence

☀️ Prevention is key: Protect your eyes from UV rays and environmental irritants

📌 If you notice a growing “fleshy” tissue in your eye, consult an eye specialist early

This is an eye injury caused by blunt trauma.

In this eye, you can see:
🔹Traumatic cataract – the lens has turned cloudy after injury, causing blurred vision
🔹Iridodialysis – part of the iris has been torn from its normal position
🔹Hyphema – blood has collected in front of the eye

👁️ What does this mean?
A strong hit to the eye can damage multiple structures at once—not just the surface, but also deeper parts responsible for vision.

⚠️ Symptoms may include:
-Sudden decrease in vision
-Eye pain
-Visible blood inside the eye
-Light sensitivity

🚨 Prompt evaluation and treatment are important to prevent permanent vision loss. Consult your Ophthalmologist

💡 Protect your eyes—wear proper eye wear!
