Hello Ka Walkers!

We had 15 dedicated members join us at the P7A Covered Court for another great 60+ minute blended IWT Walk. For the second session in a row — and continuing until this Saturday — we’re using a counter‑clockwise route to better protect our knees and make walking more sustainable. Moving forward, we’ll alternate directions weekly.

Our advanced walkers kept a steady brisk pace, maintaining an average heart rate of 116 bpm throughout.

✅ Today’s Stats:
• Distance: 2.87 km
• Duration: 63 minutes
• Steps: 5,783
• Calories burned: 178

After the walk, we gathered for our usual huddle — enjoying our favorite pandesal and hot coffee while sharing updates.

FATHER'S DAY IWT WALK

Hello Ka Walkers!

What a wonderful turnout today! Even before warm‑up began, energy was already soaring as walkers poured into the P7A basketball court — 23 strong — all gathered for our special advance Father’s Day celebration.

We set off straight into 50 minutes of blended Interval Walking Training (IWT). As our numbers grew, so did our cadence; banter, laughter, and good vibes filled every step, turning a workout into pure joy.

Right after the walk, walkers turned into dancers! As the lively Chacha rhythm started, our very own “Chacha Man” Andy took the lead, guiding everyone through the sway and groove. And just as the music warmed us up, the surprises began — what started as a secret plan by the ladies unfolded into a heartfelt feast for every father in the group.

📊 Today’s Highlights:
✅ Distance: 4 km
✅ Total time: 52 minutes
✅ Steps: 10,673 — app running continuously!
✅ Calories burned: 293
✅ Calories gained: 2,500 😋 (worth every bite!)

Thanks to our thoughtful female walkers, our dads were spoiled with a spread to remember:
• Savory dinuguan with rice and soft p**o
• Creamy tuna pesto spaghetti
• Crispy veggie spring rolls — courtesy of Virgie Sureta
• Sweet pichi‑pichi and fresh durian fruit
• Steaming hot coffee to round it all out

Mid‑feast, Walker B**g is reminded of a beautiful thought:
“Fatherhood is just like Interval Walking — never just one steady pace. There are bursts of energy: running after kids, fixing things, running errands, and caring for family. And then there are quiet, steady moments: guiding, listening, or simply sitting together and watching TV. Push and recover, effort and rest — that’s what makes it strong.”

Soon the court was filled with happy chatter, plates in hand, everyone finding their own spot to enjoy the food and company. Loud, warm shouts of “Happy Father’s Day!” rang out over and over before we slowly packed up and headed home.

A gentle reminder: Movement is medicine. Walk consistently, and what starts as ordinary effort grows into extraordinary health and strength.

See you all again — Tuesday, June 23, sharp at 7:15 AM!
Keep walking, Ka Walkers! ❤️👟

From the bottom of our hearts thank you for the great advance Father's Day bash for all IWT Father's!!

Hello Ka‑Walkers!

Today began quietly - only 6 walkers answered the airhorn call and joined our 6‑minute warm‑up. But as our 60‑minute Interval Walking Training got underway, more members stepped in, growing our group to 16 energetic walkers by session’s end!

With more feet on the path, the pace naturally quickened - especially among those maintaining steady, brisk strides. Walker B**g kept everyone motivated, reminding us: push a little harder during brisk intervals - that’s exactly how Interval Walking Training delivers its best health benefits!

✅ Today’s Highlights:

• Distance: 4.67 km
• Total Time: 63 minutes
• Steps: 6 878
• Calories burned: 218

After the walk, we gathered for our usual huddle - and enjoyed warm pandesal and hot coffee together! 😋 Then came a fun little reveal… When Walker Cesar playfully asked why contributions were handed to Walker Lovely instead of him, the secret finally came out: it’s all for our special “Salo‑salo” honoring all the fathers in IWT Walking Club - plus the husbands/spouses of our lady walkers! 🎉👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We also paused briefly when representatives from PCHAI arrived to distribute forms for the Homeowners’ General Assembly. Walker B**g volunteered to gather and organize common concerns and suggestions - both for our immediate area and the whole Pacita 1 community — to raise collectively.

💡 A reminder to all:

Movement is medicine — and consistency turns ordinary daily effort into extraordinary health results.

Keep walking, keep moving, and keep getting stronger together!

📅 Next meet‑up: June 20 — SHARP at 7:15 AM

See you all there!

Hello Ka Walkers,

14 IWT Walkers joined today’s 60-minute session!

We kicked off with a 6-minute warm-up that instantly set a positive, energetic tone — everyone was already moving in rhythm to the music before we even started the main walk!

As we went along, fellow walker B**g clearly explained our interval cues:
✅ Whistle = 2 minutes of brisk walking
✅ Buzzer = 1 minute of relaxed recovery walk

To get the most out of our IWT program, Walker B**g encourage everyone to walk at a pace that feels challenging but manageable during the brisk phase, then slow down to recover. This balanced rhythm is what makes every step count toward your health goals.

📊 Today’s Highlights:
• Distance: 4.76 km
• Total time: 63 minutes
• Steps taken: 7,000
• Calories burned: 224

After the walk, we gathered for our usual huddle and enjoyed hot coffee — though we missed our pandesal since our regular supplier wasn’t around today!

During our sharing, Walker B**g asked everyone to describe our IWT walks in one word, and here’s what we heard:

1. Masaya
2. Nakakapagod
3. Stress reliever
4. Builds camaraderie
5. Habit-forming
6. Energizer
7. Nakakabuhay dugo
8. Tanggal-sakit ng katawan

Remember: Movement is medicine. Keep showing up, keep moving, and trust that consistency turns ordinary effort into extraordinary health results. Every step brings you closer to a stronger, happier you!

See you all on Thursday, June 18 — sharp at 7:15 AM!

Hello, Ka Walkers!

What an incredible session we shared today! IWT Walkers joyfully celebrated our Pre-Mother’s Day: Step into Love Walk, filled with energy, connection, and heart. We began by walking in pairs, weaving in zigzag patterns around the court, following the perimeter and half-court lines — recreating the relaxed, happy vibe of a leisurely park stroll.

We started with 10 enthusiastic walkers answering the opening horn, and our group grew steadily until we reached 22 participants at mid-session! The activity kicked off with our signature 50-minute blended IWT Walk, followed by 20 minutes of lively DanceFit led by Walker Grace, who masterfully guided us through the fun Ding D**g line dance. We also learned a brand-new step introduced by Walker Gerlin, set to the tune of Mamang Sorbetero — everyone joined eagerly, laughing and working together to master the new routine.

✨ Today’s Highlights:

• We proudly used our very own sound system — a meaningful gift made possible by the kindness and generosity of every IWT Walker.

• Note: The numbers shown below are slightly overstated, as we forgot to stop the app at the end! 😊

📊 Activity Stats:

• Distance: 4.25 km
• Duration: 2 hours 51 minutes 39 seconds
• Steps: 13,538
• Calories Burned: 366 kcal

After all the movement and fun, everyone gathered for a simple but heartfelt feast: we shared delicious spaghetti, piles of warm pandesal, and steaming hot coffee. This gathering was our special way of honoring all mothers — recognizing their endless sacrifices, love, and dedication in raising children to be good, kind, and god-fearing individuals.

To wrap up the day, all committee chairmen held a planning meeting for our upcoming Flores de Maria celebration on May 26, 2026. The event will feature a beautiful procession honoring Emperartriz and Reyna Elena. Roles and responsibilities were clearly assigned, so we can move smoothly with preparations over the next 17 days.

To every IWT Walker — keep walking, keep moving, and keep shining! Here’s to better health, stronger bonds, and a happier you. 💛

What an incredible experience! 🚶‍♂️✨

The IWT Destination Walk was an absolute success! A huge thank you to our 17 dedicated Walkers and 5 special guests who made this day so memorable. We are especially proud to welcome Walker Rod and Bro. Oca, who joined us for our very first adventure at the beautiful Bato Springs Resort! 🌿💦

We gathered bright and early at 5:00 AM and hit the road by 5:30 AM, arriving right on schedule at 7:00 AM. Thanks to smooth preparations, we checked in without a hitch and immediately gathered for our group photo—looking sharp in our official shirts! (Shoutout to Walker Cesar, who we somehow missed during the photo op—you’re still part of the family! 😂)

After a delicious breakfast featuring Pancit Bihon, warm pandesal, sweet biko, and hot coffee, we were ready to cool off! We spent over an hour wading in the refreshing waters of Bato Springs. It was so relaxing that we only headed back to our cottage once we were perfectly chilled! ❄️🏊‍♂️

Our spacious 2-level cottage was the perfect home base, comfortably fitting all 22 of us with plenty of room to spare. Equipped with AC, sleeping quarters, and even a kitchen and griller, we had everything we needed. The energy peaked when the music started—hits from the 70s and 80s, disco, and swing! 🕺💃 The beats were simply irresistible, and everyone couldn't help but get up and dance while waiting for lunch to be prepared.

A special thank you to our "Tres Marias" in the kitchen! Walker Lovely worked her magic cooking Chicken Pork Adobo, steamed fish, and Phoenix Claws (chicken feet), while Walkers Meng and Gerlin prepared a fresh Mango Ensalada. Even while eating, we couldn't stop swaying to the music!

The fun really kicked into high gear after lunch when the popular song "Hawak Ko ang Beat" was played. The group hilariously revised the lyrics to "Hawak ko ang BRIEF"! 😂 We burst into laughter when Walker Grace dropped her towel from her waist while dancing, and Walker Sherwin started waving Walker Cesar’s wet shorts to the beat!

The laughter continued as Bro. Oca, Walkers Rod and Cesar displayed their dancing prowess.

Nine walkers even went back for one last dip, but eventually, the early morning start caught up with us, and it was time to pack up as everyone was happily tired and "wasted" in the best way possible!

Everybody truly enjoyed our maiden Destination Walk.

Until our next adventure! 🚶‍♀️❤️

P7A IWT WALKING: WHERE EVERY STEP COUNTS

Kickoff Protocol

IWT Walking begins with comprehensive vital signs collection for all participants. This is immediately followed by a high-energy 5-minute warm-up sequence – starting with full-body muscle limbering from neck to toe, elevating heart rate to optimal levels, and concluding with dynamic stretches to prime the body for performance.

The Blended IWT Method

Our signature approach pairs 2 minutes of fast-paced walking with 1 minute of recovery walking. For advanced walkers ready to push their limits: skip the recovery alarm and power through with continuous walking for the full 60-minute session.

Rewarding Finish

Every walk concludes with a delicious feast of warm pandesal and steaming hot coffee – the perfect way to refuel and celebrate your achievement!

Walker Cesar: Our dynamic spiritual leader, Cesar is the force behind our seamless operations, ensuring all equipment is session-ready. Beyond that, he is the steadfast guardian of the IWT Walkers' finances and our meticulous record-keeper, making sure every detail is precisely accounted for and instantly available.

BEFORE THE LAUNCH OF IWT WALKING TRAINING

Months before we rolled out the program, I first discussed the concept with Walker Stan – but plans were put on hold when I took an extended vacation.

As a diabetic, I was determined to reverse my insulin resistance and break free from reliance on multiple medications. Through a combination of a low-carb diet, intermittent fasting, and consistent exercise – carefully adjusted to avoid strain given my age and heart condition – I successfully achieved this goal.

Wanting to share this life-changing progress with fellow seniors in our phase, I sought an exercise program that would work for our community. I found the perfect fit in Interval Walking Training (IWT) – a popular fitness movement in Japan – which we could adapt to meet local needs, with sessions held at the P7A Covered Court.

BUILDING THE FOUNDATION

In late August 2025, I met with Phase Chairman Eric, and together we formed a secretariat with Larry, Jimmy, Stan, Nestor and Cesar. Coordinating schedules to bring the team together was challenging, and when Cesar announced the program ahead of plan, I moved quickly to send detailed IWT guidelines to our phase chat group.

To drive participation, we turned to our Block Rosary community – a tight-knit group we knew would embrace a positive health initiative. During our prayer night on September 8, 2025 (the eve of our launch), we distributed registration forms and recruited 12 dedicated members as our core group.

MEASURING SUCCESS & LOOKING AHEAD

Just 30 days after launch, we celebrated our first "10k Steps to Health" milestone. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our team and participants. Our vision now is to expand this transformative program to other phases in Pacita, so more people can experience the life-enhancing benefits of IWT.

Hello Ka Walkers,

What an incredible energy on today's IWT Walk! We ramped things up with a "blended" approach, challenging our advanced walkers to push their limits and continue without a recovery period – truly inspiring to see! For everyone else, our IWT Program continues to progress beautifully, ensuring we all reap the full benefits of the IWT Method with proper interval timing and rest breaks. Our goal remains to complete those 70 laps with optimal well-being.

The cool weather and gentle breeze were the perfect companions, boosting the spirits of all 18 walkers to conquer the track! We clocked 4.22 km with a moving time of 1:04 hour and attaining about 6,733 steps. And what better way to celebrate than with a delightful birthday feast for our dear Walker Belle! We indulged in a sumptuous spread of pancit bihon, savory pork BBQ with a delicious mung beans dip, and a sweet p**o cake. Flowing coffee and delightful caramel candies topped off our celebratory breakfast.

Mark your calendars! Our next exhilarating walk is on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Vital signs collection starts bright and early at 7:00 AM, with our warm-up commencing at 7:15 AM. Get ready, because we'll be incorporating the metronome to keep our rhythm strong!

A massive thank you to each and every one of you who made this such a positive and vibrant community activity. Your dedication makes our walks truly special!
