💉 MR SIA 2026 | Protecting Our Community Through Vaccination 💙

On August 11, 2026, Barangay Plaridel successfully conducted the MR SIA (Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity)—an important initiative to protect our children and community from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Vaccination is one of the safest and most effective ways to prevent diseases that may lead to serious complications, long-term health problems, and even death. Through quality, safe, and effective vaccines, we strengthen our protection against measles, rubella, and other vaccine-preventable illnesses. 💉✨

Every vaccinated child is not only protected individually but also helps protect our families, neighbors, and the wider community. Vaccines save lives, prevent outbreaks, and build a healthier and safer Barangay Plaridel. ❤️

Nutrition Month Celebration – Daycare Coloring Contest

As part of the 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration, Barangay Plaridel successfully conducted a Daycare Coloring Contest to promote awareness of proper nutrition among young children through a fun and educational activity. The contest highlighted this year's Nutrition Month theme, "Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!"

The activity was participated in by daycare pupils who enthusiastically showcased their creativity by colouring illustrations related to healthy foods, proper nutrition, and healthy lifestyles. The contest aimed to enhance children's understanding of good nutrition while encouraging artistic expression and active participation in community activities.

Parents, daycare workers, and barangay officials provided their support throughout the event, creating a positive and enjoyable learning environment for the participants. Winners were selected based on creativity, neatness, colour harmony, and relevance to the theme, and certificates and prizes were awarded in recognition of their efforts.

The successful conduct of the Daycare Coloring Contest contributed to the overall celebration of Nutrition Month by instilling the importance of healthy eating habits among children at an early age. The activity also strengthened community involvement in promoting nutrition and child development within Barangay Plaridel.
