Nissan Philippines just dropped the second-generation Kicks e-POWER at the Glorietta Palm Drive Activity Center, and it looks nothing like its predecessor. Headlining the three-day Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tour, this refreshed subcompact crossover trades its old, playful styling for a much sharper, more grown-up look. Up front, you get a wide, aggressive fascia flanked by sleek LED headlights and triple-tier daytime running lights. The rear gets a total makeover too, sporting outward-sweeping tail lights and a bolder Nissan badge.

Nissan stuck with its clever e-POWER series-hybrid setup, but refined it. Here is how it works: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gas engine sits in the bay, but it never actually drives the wheels. Instead, it acts purely as an on-board generator, juicing up a lithium-ion battery pack. A pure electric motor handles the heavy lifting, sending 134 horsepower and a punchy 280 Nm of torque straight to the front wheels. This gives you the instant, neck-snapping torque of an EV without the dreaded range anxiety or the need to look for a charging plug.

You still get those ultra-comfortable Zero Gravity seats, but the real star of the dashboard is the gorgeous 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and hooks up directly to the NissanConnect Services app. This lets you start your engine, check your fuel level, or track your vehicle’s range right from your smartphone. Plus, with 470 liters of cargo space, it is actually practical for daily life. The entry-level VE variant starts at ₱1,499,000, the mid-tier VL sits at ₱1,659,000, and the top-spec LE Plus trim tops out the range at ₱1,749,000.

MG Motor Philippines officially launched the all-new MG S5 EV on August 27, 2026, at the TriNoMa Activity Center in Quezon City. This launch expands the brand's sustainable vehicle portfolio and marks the commencement of the MG New Energy Tour 2026, a nationwide roadshow. This tour aims to introduce advanced electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid mobility solutions to drivers across various provinces.

Built on a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels, yielding 170 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Energy is stored in a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. This setup provides a practical single-charge driving range of up to 415 kilometers, catering to daily city commutes and longer out-of-town trips. Supports 120 kW CCS2 DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes. For overnight charging, a 7 kW AC charger replenishes the battery from 10% to 100% in roughly 8.5 hours. Inside the cabin, a minimalist design features a 12.8-inch central touchscreen infotainment display, smartphone integration, automatic climate control, and digital instrumentation. Driving safety is augmented by the MG Pilot suite of advanced driver assistance systems, earning a five-star safety rating from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP.

The MG S5 EV enters the local market with a standard retail price of PhP 1,448,888 with an introductory promotional price of PhP 1,408,888 temporarily available. Customers purchasing the crossover at the roadshow between August 27 and 30, 2026, receive a reduced price of PhP 1,398,888. This special event offer includes a free charging bundle worth PhP 30,000, consisting of a 7 kW wallbox home charger and a 3.3 kW portable charger. The purchase is backed by a five-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty, alongside an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.

The facelifted Jetour T2 has officially broken cover at the Chengdu Motor Show. Known as the Traveller 7 in China, this refreshed five-seater SUV marks a distinct shift in direction. It trades its old, raw ruggedness for a much sleeker and more premium street presence. Out go the old square headlights. In their place are distinctive circular headlamps linked by a striking, full-width illuminated LED strip. Jetour's designers also cleaned up the bumper, swapping out the bulky, unfinished black plastic for a smooth, body-colored unit that looks far more sophisticated.

That cleaner philosophy continues down the sides and all the way to the back. The heavy black plastic cladding around the wheel arches is gone, replaced entirely by body-colored panels. Bright, flashy accent colors have been dialed back. Instead, the T2 opts for a more restrained, mature look. Yet, it keeps its iconic, boxy silhouette and side-hinged tailgate. Because of the revised bodywork, the SUV now stretches slightly longer at 4,827 mm, though it rides on the exact same 2,800 mm wheelbase.

The standard 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is now paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. Drivers looking for electrification can still opt for the high-tech plug-in hybrid version. Step inside, and you will find a modernized cabin dominated by a massive central touchscreen. It is clear evidence of the T2's evolution from a pure off-roader into a highly refined lifestyle adventurer.

The Philippine EV scene is getting a serious shakeup this October. Chery’s rugged new energy brand is officially heading to local shores under the name iCAUR, distributed by Omoda Jaecoo Philippines. Don't expect flashy, overly stylized designs here. The brand embraces a "Classic Never Fades" philosophy, opting for boxy, retro geometric lines that stand out in a crowd. They are kicking things off with two highly anticipated off-road style SUVs: the all-electric iCAUR V23 and the range-extended iCAUR V27.

The iCAUR V23 is a compact, fully electric crossover built for adventure. It nails the vintage 4x4 look, making it a guaranteed head-turner for younger, outdoor-loving drivers. If you need more space, the iCAUR V27 steps things up. This mid-size beast stretches five meters long and uses a clever range-extended setup to completely eliminate range anxiety. While Omoda Jaecoo is managing the brand, iCAUR will have its own independent dealership network. Expect final pricing, local specs, and dealer locations to drop closer to the official October launch.

FAW Toyota, Toyota's primary joint venture in China, has officially launched the refreshed 2027 bZ5 all-electric coupe SUV. Serving as a pivotal vehicle in Toyota's aggressive strategy to reclaim market share from aggressive domestic EV competitors, this first-year annual update sharpens the model's high-tech edge. Originally debuting as a bold "made-in-China-for-China" product, the bZ5 series directly undercuts Western and domestic alternatives like the Tesla Model Y, blending traditional Toyota quality with localized, cutting-edge technology.

The core focus of the 2027 update centers around enhanced autonomous capabilities and smart driving assistance. The top-tier variants benefit from an upgraded Toyota Pilot intelligent driving system, combining Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) with the locally optimized Momenta 5.0 urban assisted driving software. Dreame Technology, the company you probably know for its robot vacuums and high-end hair dryers, is completely killing off its electric vehicle project. And yes, this is only a year after launching it. The smart home brand is winding down its automotive division (affectionately dubbed "Starry Sky"), settling up with suppliers, and laying off staff. Just months ago, Dreame shelled out $10 million for a Super Bowl ad to hype its car tech. Then, they debuted a wild "Rocket Car" concept in San Francisco, claiming it would use solid-fuel rocket boosters to hit 0 to 100 km/h in an insane 0.9 seconds.

Industry insiders pointed out that their futuristic concept cars were mostly hollow shells without real chassis or proprietary tech. On top of that, securing manufacturing licenses from the Chinese government turned out to be a massive headache, and factory talks in Germany went nowhere. Throw in a brutal EV price war, and Dreame’s leadership decided to throw in the towel. At its peak, the project had nearly 1,000 employees. Now, only a few HR and finance folks are left to turn off the lights.

Dreame says it’s pivoting back to what it does best: vacuums, robotic lawnmowers, e-scooters, and AI robots. By backing out now, they join Apple and Dyson in the elite club of tech giants who realized building a car from scratch is a whole different beast.

Zeekr just crossed 200,000 global orders for its 7X electric family SUV. The 200,000th order came from Joaquín Ezcurra in Mexico, a country where the 7X currently rules the luxury EV charts. The midsize crossover is quietly taking over outside of China, hitting 50-plus markets and anchoring massive sales numbers. Zeekr actually hit a fresh monthly high in July by moving over 35,000 vehicles overall—and the 7X alone brought in 10,000 of those deliveries.

Built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), the spacious five-seat family crossover targets the mainstream EV market and acts as a vital pillar for Zeekr’s global delivery volume. In China, the model utilizes an advanced 900-volt high-voltage architecture, a powerful Nvidia Drive Thor chip, and standard LiDAR technology. Boasting high performance, its dual-motor version produces up to 785 horsepower to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in under three seconds, while variants equipped with advanced battery tech offer a maximum CLTC range of up to 802 kilometers.

The Zeekr 7X has expanded into more than 50 countries and regions worldwide. It has claimed dominant market positions in multiple international territories. For instance, from January to July 2026, the 7X ranked first in sales within Mexico's luxury all-electric C-SUV segment. Beyond Latin America, the premium vehicle has gained substantial market shares and led key sales segments across regions like Australia, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

Spanning over 17 feet, it balances a bold, imposing stance with sleek lines inspired by traditional Korean pottery. But the real showstopper is the Neolun version. It ditches the middle B-pillar entirely for massive, rear-hinged coach doors. Pop them open, and you’re looking at a cabin that feels way more like a high-end lounge than a car.

The floor has built-in radiant heating, the front seats can literally spin 180 degrees to face the back when parked, and a huge 24.6-inch screen rolls right out of the dashboard. Don't let the luxury fool you, built on a dedicated EV platform, a massive 123.5-kWh battery pumps out 657 horsepower through an all-wheel-drive system. It’ll charge from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes, get around an estimate of 500km range, and glide over bumps using an advanced air suspension system.

Dropping soon as a 2027 model, high-end versions are expected to push past the $200,000 (approximately PhP 12.352 million) mark. It’s an expensive gamble, but Genesis is proving they can build an EV land yacht that stands toe-to-toe with the world's absolute best.

It charges the battery while you drive, meaning you get that snappy, instant EV feel without ever having to hunt for a charging station. Inside, things get a massive tech upgrade. Nissan added a crisp 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, higher trims also bundle in ProPilot driver assistance. If you are looking for a hybrid that doesn't feel boring, this one is definitely worth checking out.
