Last night, we received 20 liters of honey from one of our trusted honeyhunters who said that he had gotten it from another source kay wa siyay natigom.

As usual, it was subjected to testing by our resident expert, Evert Jan Robberts.

The results?
1. Honey was heated a lot mao nga ubos kaayo iyang Moisture content -17%. (Acceptable range is between 22 and 25%.)
Conclusion: Honey had been heated. Heating gets rid of vitamins, minerals, anti oxidants that makes honey the nutritious food that it is.

2. There were small strands of cloth fibers, nga mao seguroy gigamit pagsala sa honey.

3. Walay pollen. Presence of Pollen is one of the indicators nga pure ang honey.

4. Naay mga yeast cells. These can cause fermentation mao nga mobula ang honey. usahay mobuto kun active ang mga yeast cells.

5. Naay presence of Soot ug wax particles, indication nga gi puga kini ug maayo, instead of patuloon lang, which is in the international honey harvesting protocol.

Ang mga mamuhagay honest. Apan ang demand sa mga mamalitay, clear, clean honey kay pure kuno.

So unsay buhaton? Pug on, pabukalan, salaon. Resulting in a clearer, cleaner honey but with an altered composition.

Mahimo na dayon siyang FAKE HONEY. Dili pure.

Dili sala sa mga mamuhagay kay this is what they were raised to believe in.

And this is what Sinacaban Ecofarm is aiming to do...change the mindset of these honeyhunters so that they will start harvesting the honey following the correct protocol.

And for the consumers to think that, in this case, Clear is not always pure.

Unsay among gihimo?

To stay true to our name of Honest Honey, we have not bottled this batch. We have chosen to absorb the costs rather than give the public dis-Honest Honey.

For after all, Honesty is the best policy.

Honest Honey by Francing’s EcoProducts is wild honey that is gathered by local honey gatherers from the forests of the Malindang Mountain Range. It is pure honey produced by the apis dorsata spp , commonly known as giant honey bee. These bees are only found in South and Southeast Asia and are known for their aggressive and vicious defense behavior.

Francing’s EcoProducts is named after the deceased wife of the resident apiculturist (“bee expert”), Evert Jan Robberts, of Sinacaban EcoFarm where Francing’s EcoProducts are produced and packaged. The “Honest” in Honest Honey is to emphasize that the product is pure and has been verified using, among others, the refractory method, to measure its moisture content and thus, its purity.

Francing’s EcoProducts aims to maintain a balance between economic sustainability as well as the sustainability of the environment from which Honest Honey is sourced out. Even as honey gathering provides an alternative source of income for the local honey gatherer-sellers, ensuring that wild bee communities in the local forests are thriving is deemed an important component in its whole operation.

In consideration of this, two of the goals of Francing’s EcoProducts are: 1) to educate local honey gatherers on sustainable practices in honey gathering and environmental protection, and, 2) to eventually form an organization of local honey gatherers for better leverage in future economic transactions.
