Honor People

Honors and awards make many people happy and proud. Ngunit higit sa pagkakamit ng pagkilala ng kahusayan o katalinuhan, ang mas mahalaga ay ang magbigay tayo ng honor sa ating kapwa.



Magandang araw, ako si Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides para sa Protips partner mo sa inspiradong trabaho at negosyong umaasenso.



Ganito ang mababasa natin sa Romans 12:10, “Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.” What does it mean to honor others? Ibig sabihin ba ay sasabitan mo rin ng medalya ang mga kasama mo diyan sa trabaho? Dapat ba ay palagi kayong magprint ng certificate para kilalanin ang mga contribution ng bawat empleyado diyan sa kumpanya ninyo? While symbols of honor are important, may mas magandang paraan para magpakita ng honor at kilalanin ang halaga ng ating kapwa. Narito ang ilan sa aking mungkahi.



1) Respect differences and uniqueness. Madalas, we get frustrated with other people dahil hindi natin sila kapareho. Gusto mong magtrabaho sila o mag-isip sa paraang tulad ng sa iyo. Huwag mong hanapin ang husay at ugali mo sa ibang tao at tiyak madi-disappoint ka lamang. Iba ka, iba sila. We all have our strengths and weaknesses at dapat natin itong kilalanin at unawain. Hindi maaring one size fits all o one style applies to all. Ang square ay hindi mo pwedeng ipilit sa isang bilog na hulmahan. Honor others by recognizing and respecting that God created us unique from one another.



2) Don’t talk behind people’s back. Gossiping about your boss or co-workers is not honorable. Marami ang nag-e-enjoy na pagtsismisan ang ibang tao pero ito ay hindi dapat. Sinisira nito ang magandang samahan sa opisina. Talking behind people’s back destroys reputations and relationships. Sinisira din nito ang tiwala na pundasyon ng maayos na ugnayan sa trabaho.



3) Fulfill your promises and commitments. May ka-opisina ka bang paasa? Pinaasa kang tatapusin niya ang trabaho niya, pero after 20 years, naghihintay ka pa rin? Sinabihan kang 9 a.m. ang meeting, pero alas diyes na wala pa rin dahil naipit daw sa traffic samantalang mas malayo pa nga ang bahay mo kaysa sa kanya. Being true to our promises and commitments is an honorable thing to do. You also honor people when you fulfill your promises to them. Ipinakikita mong, mahalaga sila at ang tiwala nila sa iyo kaya hindi mo babaliin o kakalimutan ang iyong pangako.



It is never too late to honor people today. Respect their uniqueness, don’t talk behind their back and fulfill your commitments to them. Ilan lamang iyan sa maaari mong gawin para i-honor ang kapwa at katrabaho mo.

Increase Your Productivity

Pare-pareho naman tayong mayrong 24 hours sa loob ng isang araw, pero bakit may mga taong tila mas maraming trabaho ang natatapos kaysa sa iba? Ano nga ba ang kailangan para maging productive tayo?

Magandang araw, ako si Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides para sa Protips, partner mo sa inspiradong trabaho at negosyong umaasenso.

Narito ang tatlong paalala na makatutulong sa pagpapataas ng ating productivity sa ating kumpanya.

1) Manage your time wisely. Mabilis na lumilipas ang ating oras lalo na kung wala tayong plano. Matatapos ang isang araw ng ganun-ganun na lamang at wala tayong na-accomplish na kahit ano, kung hindi tayo magiging intentional sa paggamit ng oras natin. Be more productive at work by managing your time. Sa pagsisimula pa lamang ng araw mo, kailangang mayroon kang malinaw na goals kung ano ang dapat mong magawa at tapusin. Gawin mo rin ito sa team na iyong pinamumunuan. Bawat team member dapat ay may malinaw na priorities at action plan. And they should be kept accountable to execute those plans.

2) Be Focused. Maraming pag-aaral ang nagsasabing, ang multi-tasking ay nakababawas sa productivity ng mga empleyado. People who are focused in finishing one task at a time tend to be more productive. Ganito rin ang sinabi ng philosopher na si Plato, "All things will be produced in superior quantity and quality, and with greater ease, when each man works at a single occupation, in accordance with his natural gifts, and at the right moment, without meddling with anything else." Tanggalin natin ang mga distractions sa trabaho natin at maging tutok tayo sa kailangan nating gawin at tapusin.

3) Collaborate with others. Kung gusto mong mas marami kang magawa, matutong makipagkapwa. You will be able to accomplish more if you work with others. Alam mo bang isa sa itinuturing na mahalagang skill para maging matagumpay sa 21st century workplace ay ang kakayahang makipag-collaborate. When you combine your abilities and strengths with others ang akala mong hindi mo kayang gawin ay nagiging possible. Mahalaga lamang sa team collaboration na matiyak na ang bawat team member ay gagawin ng tama at maayos ang kanilang trabaho.

Tatlong susi para tumaas ang ating productivity sa trabaho ay time management, focus at team collaboration. People who are fruitful in their work have a higher sense of fulfillment. Kaya simulan na nating maging mabunga. Magtrabaho na tayo at gumawa.
