WHY BEANCHARON?

Beancharon is committed to addressing key challenges in the community by providing nutritious and sustainable solutions. It helps combat malnutrition through healthier snack alternatives made from beans, supports local farmers by creating demand despite the downturn in bean prices, and promotes better eating habits among students in line with DepEd Memo No. 13, s. 2017, which bans the sale of junk foods in schools.

FRANS is not a brand invented for the market. It is a tribute. Each letter stands for a groupmate who contributed to the original research and development of the product during that feasibility study: Fevie, Ryan, Angelo, Neslyn, and Stephannie. The business scaled. The acknowledgment stayed.

𝗛𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱.

Ryan Rebolledo of FRANS Food Processing in Tabuk City, Kalinga, started You Can Call me "B" Beancharon as a classroom feasibility study. Bean chicharon built to solve three connected problems: Kalinga farmers with beans they cannot sell at stable prices, schools that need nutritious snack alternatives under DepEd's junk food ban, and children facing malnutrition. He won at the provincial level. Then the regional level. Now he represents Cordillera at the DA Young Farmers Challenge national stage in Iloilo. His first customers were his family, his churchmates, and his OJT boss. His product has been brought to Switzerland as a pasalubong. This is what it looks like to build something real from a place most people overlook.
