The EVMC Department of Family and Community Medicine Section of Supportive Hospice and Palliative Medicine proudly presents the Fellows’ Research Presentation.
Featuring the scholarly work of:
• Dr. Michaeline Balili – “Attitudes and Practices of Early Spiritual Care among Nurses caring for patients with life-threatening illness in a tertiary government hospital”
• Dr. Raisa Ragandan – “Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices toward Hospice and Palliative Care among Nurses and Allied Healthcare Providers”
• Dr. Nikka Flor Pedrosa – “Pain Severity at Initial Assessment and after 72 Hours of Pain Management among Adult Patients referred to Supportive Hospice and Palliative Medicine”
We are honored to have our distinguished reactors whose insights enriched the discussions:
• Rev. Msgr. Erlito Maraya
• Dr. Adelaida Rosaldo
• Dr. Alfon Daga
More than research, these presentations reminded us that behind every number is a person, behind every diagnosis is a story, and behind every moment of suffering is a call to compassion.
They gently brought us back to the heart of palliative care where healing is found not only in treatment, but in presence, empathy, and dignity. Each study reflects a shared commitment to care for patients as whole persons in body, mind, and spirit.
“You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life.”
– Dame Cicely Saunders
We are deeply grateful for the dedication of our fellows, whose work embodies both excellence and a true calling to serve.
May these efforts continue to bring comfort, meaning, and hope to every patient and family entrusted to our care.
