Sacred plants were never meant to become commodities for greed, ego, or deception.

Across many indigenous traditions around the world, to***co has long been regarded as a sacred plant used with reverence, prayer, purification, and protection. The wisdom surrounding these medicines was carried by elders and ancestors through generations, not by trends, social media popularity, or the pursuit of money and influence.

Sadly, we are witnessing a growing number of self-proclaimed "healers" and "facilitators" with little or no proper training. Many use poor-quality to***co loaded with chemicals, create unsafe and unhygienic preparations, and even steal videos and images from Amazonian tribes to appear authentic. Some are more interested in power, attention, gambling, and profit than in honoring the sacred responsibility that comes with these traditions.

Sacred medicine deserves respect. People deserve honesty.

Not everything wrapped in indigenous imagery is genuine. Not everyone wearing beads, feathers, or speaking spiritual words carries the wisdom they claim.

Please be wise. Do your research. Ask about lineage, training, ethics, and integrity. Your health, your mind, and your spiritual well-being are too important to place in the hands of those who merely seek followers and financial gain.

Discernment is also medicine.

Honor the plants. Honor the traditions. Honor the truth.

We are honored to be featured through the eyes and voice of Elizabeth Crespo who recently visited our sacred space here in Tagaytay—our Maharloka. Known in other traditions as a Maloka, this space holds intention, presence, and the quiet power of connection—where people come together in ceremony, reflection, and community.

Elizabeth beautifully captured not only the essence of Maharloka, but also the spirit behind the art that lives within it. Every painting, every corner, carries a story—woven with purpose, healing, and the energy of those who have gathered here.

Her journey—from environmental law and forest policy to herbalism and community circles—brings a unique bridge between the natural world and human connection. We deeply appreciate her openness to learn, to feel, and to share this experience with others.
