In line with this year’s World Asthma Day theme, Allied Care Experts (ACE) Medical Center – Bohol, Inc. conducted an informative lecture on asthma awareness and the importance of accessible asthma care. In celebration of Liver Cancer and Viral Hepatitis Awareness and Prevention Month, Allied Care Experts (ACE) Medical Center – Bohol, Inc. successfully conducted an informative Lay Forum this morning, January 28, 2026, at the CPG Grandhall.

The activity highlighted the importance of liver health, early detection prevention, and treatment options for liver cancer and viral hepatitis. Empowering the community with the right knowledge plays a vital role in reducing risks, improving outcomes, and encouraging proactive health-seeking behavior.

The forum was led by our IM residents, Dr. Genica-Leah J. Ramirez and Dr. Juliet G. Uy-Mula, who served as the speakers for the activity, and was moderated by Dr. Janrei G. Jumangit (IM–Gastroenterologist).

Adding energy and fun to the event, participants also enjoyed a Zumba activity and a free gastro consultation.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this activity, especially our IM residents and our participants from the Tagbilaran City Health Office and Barangay Mansasa.

January is Liver Cancer & Viral Hepatitis Awareness & Prevention Month! 🎗️

Join our Lay forum hosted by Allied Care Experts (ACE) Medical Center – Bohol, Inc. It features Dr. Janrei Jumangit, an esteemed gastroenterologist and our own residents, Dr. Ramirez and Dr. Uy.

Here are Viral Hepatitis Facts You Need to Know! 🧡

Did you know? Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver, and 9 in 10 people with hepatitis don’t even know they have it!

There are 5 main viruses that can cause hepatitis: A, B, C, D, and E.

How it spreads:
🦠 Faecal-oral route: Contaminated food, water, or objects
💉 Blood-borne route: Infected body fluids, needles, or from mother to child
🤝 Person-to-person contact: Sexual contact or close caregiving

Common symptoms: Fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, jaundice, and dark urine.

Prevent hepatitis by:
✅ Washing hands thoroughly
✅ Choosing safe food & water
✅ Practising good sanitation
✅ Using only sterile needles
✅ Not sharing personal items like toothbrushes or razors
✅ Practising safe s*x
