MASTER YOUR MIND

This picture below came through my feed. It reminds me of a quote from the ancient Bhagavad-gita (6:6) that says:

"For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends, but for one who has failed to do so, his very mind will be the greatest enemy."

A good reminder that you are not your mind. You have the ability to discipline the mind and you must do this so you are not dragged around by it.

In August 2018, my tai chi classmate and friend, Jodene Morgans, from Australia, posted this:

Very proud of my AVEO Robina Tai Chi group!!! Dress rehearsal this morning for tomorrow’s AVEO’s Got Talent competition at which they will perform Chen-style Flute. They are aged between mid70s to 95! In to Win!

Try either qigong or tai chi (or even both - as I have done for many years). You just might find the form of exercise that resonates with you. Very beginner friendly (especially qigong). Mobility issues? Try qigong. Focus and breath are more important in qigong than being able to move your limbs. Want to raise internal courage? Tai chi is a defensive martial art - all the martial arts moves are hidden in the slow and flowing movements.
