On 06 July 2026, the Department of War (DOW) PEPFAR Philippines Program led by the Technical Director, Dr. Maribel M. Develos, MD, DPPS, DrPH, together with MAJ KRISTA CLAUDINE ANG PING MC from the Office of the Chief Surgeon, Philippine Army, and MAJ RUBYLYN MALAGA NC from the Office of the Chief Nurse, Philippine Army, conducted a Technical Assistance Visit at General Hospital, Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army (GH, HHSG, PA). The activity was attended by the GH - HIV/AIDS Core Team (HACT).

The Technical Assistance Visit aims to strengthen the hospital's HIV program through high-quality, targeted, and on-site technical support in key areas, including capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, data management, and outcome measurement.

During the activity, the GH, HHSG, PA HACT presented its accomplishments and ongoing initiatives, which included the conduct of Troop Information and Education (TIE) sessions, orientation and re-orientation on the One HIV/AIDS and STI Information System (OHASIS), the acquisition of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) medications from VLMC, and the establishment of a new HACT office at the Outpatient Department.

The activity concluded with a courtesy call to COL TERESITA R MERIOLES MC, Chief Medical Service, GH, HHSG, PA.
Guided by the technical recommendations provided during the visit, GH- HACT will continue to promote accessible, comprehensive, and quality HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment, and care services while fostering greater awareness and reducing stigma among military personnel and the community it serves.

On 03 July 2026, the General Hospital, Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army (GH, HHSG, PA) HIV/AIDS Core Team (HACT) attended the OHASIS Orientation/Re - Orientation Seminar conducted by the esteemed speaker, Mr. Kevin Joeph R. Bulacan, MPH of the Metro Manila Center for Health Development at the Lakambini Lounge, General Hospital, Philippine Army.

Developed by the Department of Health (DOH) - Epidemiology Bureau, OHASIS is a centralized electronic medical record (EMR) platform. It securely records and monitors patient data across the country.

The seminar strengthened the participants' understanding of the One HIV/AIDS and STI Information System (OHASIS), capacitating HACT member with the knowledge and competencies necessary to effectively fulfill their roles and support the program's objectives.

Following the seminar, HACT Chairperson LTC ERIC ROUDEL ECALNIR MC and Data Manager MAJ RUTH ZANDRA T JAYSON NC, together with the resource speaker Mr. Kevin Joseph R. Bulacan, paid a courtesy call to the Office of the Commanding Officer, COL CAESAR ALMER E CANDELARIA MC (GSC).

This activity reflects the organization's continued commitment to strengthening HIV/AIDS surveillance, reporting, and program implementation through capacity building, collaboration, and leadership engagement.
