We are proud to share that Holcim Philippines Inc. has been honored with two major awards under the 2026 Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Recognition Program — a milestone made possible largely through the success and sustained impact of our Adopt-A-Community Program.

🏆 EPR Partners Leadership Award – recognizing our strong collaboration across sectors, including our active role in PlastiCon25, to collectively address plastic pollution
🏆 Waste Diverter Award – acknowledging our tangible impact in plastic waste recovery and circular economy solutions through Geocycle, driven by community-based diversion efforts

At the heart of these achievements is the Adopt-A-Community Program — a long-term partnership model that empowers municipalities and local waste workers to divert non-recyclable plastics from landfills while creating social value through rice support and livelihood incentives. This program has become a cornerstone of our EPR compliance strategy and a proven pathway for delivering both environmental and community impact.

These recognitions reaffirm our commitment to building scalable, inclusive, and sustainable waste solutions for a cleaner and more circular Philippines.

Maraming salamat to DENR, our partners, and our dedicated teams who continue to turn purpose into action every day!

Holcim Philippines continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability by partnering with several Local Government Units (LGUs) in Mindanao to support their waste diversion initiatives for residual waste.

Through Geocycle, our environmental arm, we are proud to collaborate with the Municipality of Linamon, Lanao del Norte, as well as the Municipalities of Sto. Tomas and Dujali in Davao del Norte.

These partnerships are a testament to Holcim’s dedication to helping communities build cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environments. By providing reliable waste management solutions, we empower LGUs to reduce landfill dependence and advance a circular economy for a greener future.

Together, we are transforming waste challenges into opportunities for long-term community development.

Last July 16, Geocycle Philippines proudly presented its Co-Processing Technology and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Program at the Climate Solutions Forum held at Dusit Hotel in Davao, hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP). The forum served as a strategic platform to highlight how co-processing offers a proven and environmentally responsible alternative for waste diversion, while our Adopt-A-Community Program empowers local waste workers and fosters partnerships with communities. These initiatives align with our commitment to supporting Mindanao in building sustainable waste management systems that contribute to a cleaner, greener future.

The event brought together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and advocates for environmental sustainability, fostering productive discussions on advancing circular economy practices in the region. By integrating innovative waste solutions with social empowerment programs, Geocycle continues to demonstrate that responsible waste management is both an environmental and community-building mission. Together with our partners, we are driving real change—transforming waste challenges into opportunities for progress.

Geocycle Philippines was honored to present its Co-Processing Technology and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Program at the 8th Environment Summit held on July 10 at Ion Hotel, Baguio City. Invited by the Environmental Management Bureau – Cordillera Administrative Region (EMB CAR), our team shared how co-processing serves as a proven and environmentally sound solution for waste diversion, supporting the country’s goals for sustainable waste management. The summit provided an excellent platform to engage with government stakeholders, industry leaders, and environmental advocates in fostering collaborative solutions for a cleaner future.

During the event, we also highlighted our Adopt-a-Community Program, which not only advances waste diversion but also uplifts the livelihoods of waste workers through capacity-building and sustainable partnerships. By integrating communities into the EPR value chain, Geocycle continues to create opportunities that align with environmental compliance while driving positive socio-economic impact. We remain committed to supporting both environmental protection and community empowerment, in line with all applicable laws and industry best practices.

As we continue to advance our collective journey toward sustainability, we look back at one of the pivotal events that shaped our commitment to zero-waste solutions.

Last January 22, 2025, Holcim Philippines hosted "Pioneering Circularity: Advancing Zero-Waste for a Sustainable Future" at F1 Hotel Manila, BGC. Though months have passed, the relevance of the discussions and partnerships built during this gathering continues to resonate today.

The event brought together key players from government agencies, local government units, industry, the academe, and recycling partners—uniting efforts to address the country’s growing waste challenges. It featured timely and forward-looking discussions on plastic waste management, microplastics, and the evolving implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law.

Now, as EPR enforcement gains momentum and more communities embrace circular solutions, the insights shared during this event remain a critical guide for action. Holcim Philippines remains steadfast in its mission to work alongside stakeholders in creating long-term, inclusive, and scalable solutions for a cleaner, more sustainable future.

The call for circularity is louder than ever. Let’s continue to lead, collaborate, and innovate for a zero-waste Philippines.

In the first week of July 2025, Holcim Philippines, through Geocycle, in partnership with URC, distributed rice incentives to the LGUs of Minalin, Macabebe, and Sto. Tomas in Pampanga, and Carmona, Cavite as part of the Adopt-A-Community program.

The rice incentives were based on the volume of plastic waste delivered during the first half of 2025, with sacks allocated for distribution among waste segregators under the MENRO offices. This initiative aims to empower community-based waste workers and reinforce the importance of segregation at source to support a circular economy.

Together, we recognize performance, promote sustainability, and uplift our waste champions.
