Strengthening partnerships for a successful School-Based Immunization Program.

The Rural Health Unit of Talisayan successfully conducted the School-Based Immunization (SBI) Consultative Meeting today at the RHU Conference Hall August 28, 2026, with the participation of school heads from both public and private schools in the Municipality of Talisayan.

The consultative meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the goals, guidelines, and implementation plans for the upcoming School-Based Immunization Program. A successful Mobile Blood Donation Drive made possible through collaboration and compassion.

In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross Gingoog Chapter and led by Barangay Chairperson Hon. Marjorie G. Montejo, this meaningful activity brought the community together in support of voluntary blood donation.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Hon. Marjorie G. Montejo and the Barangay Council for spearheading and supporting this worthwhile activity. We also thank our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) for their invaluable assistance throughout the event.

Most importantly, our deepest gratitude goes to all our voluntary blood donors. Your selfless act of donating blood is a priceless gift that helps save lives and gives hope to patients in need.

Enhancing Our Health Facility, Strengthening Healthcare Services

The Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) team of the Department of Health – Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao (DOH-CHD-NM) visited the RHU to evaluate the newly constructed building and the ongoing renovation of the entire facility.

The evaluation included a review of the project, with the team providing feedback and recommendations for minor improvements and additional requirements to further enhance the facility and ensure that it meets the necessary standards.

We sincerely appreciate the Department of Health’s support through the HFEP for the project, which contributes to creating a safer, more functional, and improved healthcare facility for our community.

Protecting our community from Filariasis through proactive surveillance! 🔬🩸

Last August 18, 2026, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) team successfully conducted a Nocturnal Blood Examination (NBE) in Barangay Calamcam. This activity serves as crucial surveillance testing to monitor and eliminate Filariasis within the locality. Because the microfilariae parasites are most active in the bloodstream at night, the team worked diligently through the evening hours to ensure accurate screening.

Alongside the medical testing, an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) was spearheaded by Sanitary Inspector Lenivette Sanoria. The session focused on educating residents about the prevention, transmission, and symptoms of mosquito-borne diseases, empowering the community to maintain a safer and cleaner environment.

We extend our deep gratitude to the Barangay Local G ba overnment Unit of Calamcam, especially the Barangay Council headed by Barangay Chairperson Hon. Lemuel Enterina, our local health workers, and all the residents who stayed up and participated to prioritize public health. Together, we keep our communities safe and disease-free!

Service in action at Barangay Puting Balas!

Last August 18, 2026, the community came together as one for a Mobile Blood Donation Activity, successfully led by our Barangay Chairperson, Hon. Crusher Tion. This impactful life-saving initiative was made possible through our strong partnership with RHU Talisayan and the Philippine Red Cross Gingoog.

Alongside the blood drive, the dedicated team from RHU Talisayan brought PuroKalusugan straight to Brgy. Puting Balas providing vital health education, free medical consultations, and essential healthcare services to the residents.

We extend our deepest, heartfelt gratitude to the Barangay Council, our tireless volunteers, our heroic blood donors, and everyone who lent a hand to make this activity a true success.

Together, we continue to build and promote healthier communities through partnership and genuine service! ❤️ Barangay Puting Balas is moving forward!

Our Public Health Nurse recently conducted a Data Quality Check of health programs in our Barangay Health Stations, together with the assigned Rural Health midwives, nurses, and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).

During the activity, health program records were reviewed and validated, while the barangay health teams were also evaluated and provided with feedback to help improve data quality, reporting, and program implementation.

Thank you to our dedicated frontline health workers for your continued teamwork and commitment to serving our communities
