Ipinagtataka ng magulang ng bata kung bakit pumanaw ang kanilang anak gayong nabigyan naman ito ng bakuna laban sa rabies.

Basahin po ang buong detalye sa comment section ng GMA News kung bakit, kahit naturukan naman ng anti-rabies, ay namatay pa rin ang bata.

Kaya po, mas mabuting dalhin agad ang pasyente sa pinakamalapit na Animal Bite Center para masuri at mabigyan ng tamang lunas. Kung ang kagat ay malapit sa ulo o mukha, huwag na pong magdalawang-isip na kumonsulta agad tungkol sa ERIG (Rabies Immunoglobulin) lalo na kung kinakailangan ito batay sa assessment ng pasyente. Para sa mabilis na lunas at upang mabawasan ang panganib na kumalat ang rabies virus patungo sa utak.

Ang pera ay madaling kitain, pero ang buhay ay mahirap ibalik. 😢

Kapag nakagat o nakalmot ng hayop, magpakonsulta agad sa Animal Bite Center.

Namatay ang isang apat na taong gulang na lalaki sa General Santos City mahigit isang buwan matapos umano itong makagat ng isang asong-gala na pinaniniwalaang may rabies.

Agad siyang dinala sa ospital kung saan nilinis at tinahi ang kaniyang mga sugat. Binigyan din siya ng bakuna laban sa tetanus.

Matapos ibigay ang tetanus shot noong gabi, kinaumagahan ay ibinigay naman sa bata ang unang dose ng bakuna laban sa rabies. Naka-tatlong dose ng anti-rabies shot ang bata pero bago ang ikaapat na dose, nakitaan na umano ng sintomas ng rabies ang bata.

Ayon sa ospital kung saan na-admit ang bata, karaniwang apat na dose ng bakuna ang ibinibigay sa nakagat ng aso ngunit hindi na umabot sa huling dose ang pasyente. Nagkaroon din siya ng sugat mula sa kagat ng aso na malapit sa kaniyang ulo.

”Unfortunately, umabot siya ng third dose pero hindi na siya umabot ng fourth dose. We categorize yung mga sugat or kagat ng aso… sa pasyente, Category 3… masyado nang malapit sa ulo. Meron tayong ibinibigay na immunuglobilin, which is active yung ibinigay na bakuna,” ayon kay Dr. Jeorge P. Royeca City Hospital Chief, Dr. Ryan Oscar Aplicador.
