We forgot to take a photo with Kuya Iv*n and Kuya Cyr**le.

Sometimes I worry about them waiting in line for too long, so I end up forgetting our photo-op because I need to immediately accommodate those who are waiting.

While the photos were taken and posted with consent, I still cover their faces with smileys to safeguard their welfare.

A very procedure filled week!

Sa mga patient ko po na hindi na ako naka-pag picture. Naging sobrang busy po tayo o kaya nagkataong nakalimutan or may lakad ako bigla di na tayo naka-pag picture. Salamat po sa tiwala!

Ngayong linggo, heto ang mga procedures natin:

Dalawang patient na nagpatanggal ng maliit na cyst of bukol

Dalawang nalinisan ang sobrang infected at dumi na toe wounds.

Anim na tuli, lalo na sa mga binatang proud din ako, sorry mga balong di na tayo nakapag-picture.

At sampong vaccinations! Sa ibang mga vaccine babies and children ko, sayang wala akong picture mga anak, sobrang madaming inasikaso nuong bumisita kayo.

Salamat po sa tiwala. Pinapahalagahan ko po ang tiwala ninyo.

"The Day Zion came with Grandpa"

Earlier today, my patient — a little boy named Zion (not his real name) — came in with his grandfather.
Usually, it’s his mother who brings him, so I noticed the change right away.

Throughout the consultation, I appreciated how calm, composed, and attentive Grandpa was. He answered every question clearly, remembered details well, and carried himself with quiet steadiness — the kind that makes you feel everything will be okay.

As we wrapped up, I offered reassurance as I usually do.
“Text niyo po ako pag may problem,” I said gently. “Kinuha naman ni Mommy ni Zion yung number ko.”

Then, for a brief moment, his voice broke — the kind of sound that slips out when someone’s trying not to cry.
“Sa kasamaang palad, Doc…” he said, his words trembling before he gathered himself again, “…binawian na siya ng buhay kaninang umaga.”

I froze.

Zion’s mother — the same woman who always brought him, who patiently asked about every medicine, who smiled through every visit — was gone.

I didn’t know what to say. The air felt heavy, the room suddenly quieter. Yet Grandpa sat there, still calm, still composed, as if holding himself together was the only way to move forward.

I thought to myself — maybe I could have done the same. I could have shown up, done what needed to be done — but my sadness would have been written all over me. My eyes would have swollen, my voice unsteady, my composure long gone.

But Grandpa didn’t let his sadness show.
He chose to be strong — not because he wasn’t grieving, but because someone beside him still needed him to be.

And in that quiet strength, I saw love — raw, steady, and deeply human.

I love my work. But sometimes, it asks more of the heart than the mind —
because there are days when healing means sharing, even for a moment, the weight of someone else’s heartbreak.
