Hi there!
Because I’m a vlogger, I want to vlog this experience… flying business class is not my norm. Actually, this is only my second time flying business, and my first time with my hubby. I didn’t even know he booked business class!

So here’s how the experience went:
We all know that business class passengers get priority, so it’s such a relief to skip the long queues. Upon check-in, there are special lounges for business class with unlimited food and drinks. During boarding, we were the first to board, and they immediately offered us a welcome drink of our choice. There were already snacks waiting at our seats, and they kept offering more throughout the flight.

On our trip to Dubai, the flight attendant even gave me two sets of amenity kits containing travel essentials. For the entire trip, we enjoyed full-course meals with three main course options — all delicious.

What wins for me? You rest like a baby because you get a fully flat bed. You won’t even miss your own bed. And during layovers, the lounges are full of food again, and you can even take a shower.

Another perk: Wi-Fi is included, so we could stay connected. So, even while we were in the sky, I did some mentoring for OPD. On our way back home, being in business class meant we could request airport transfers from the airline — so my husband booked a chauffeur service.

The return trip was pretty much the same… except we weren’t connected to Wi-Fi this time. But they had an onboard lounge where you could have drinks with family and friends.

The price is almost double economy, but it’s worth the experience and comfort — especially as you get older. For me, though, I won’t always fly business class because I really want to keep traveling… mamumulubi tayo 😂 Actually, I’m a backpacker at heart. I find cheap deals just to travel, and I don’t buy things unless they’re essential. I just collect one souvenir from each country.

Actually, during my vacation, it’s only the environment that changes. From Monday to Saturday, I still wake up at 3:30–4:00 AM — because it’s Europe and we have a 6-hour time difference — to mentor my two mentees back home at our clinic, Family EYE Wellness Center. Yes, I’m still working, so when I get home, I already have patients scheduled for surgery.

That’s the cycle of my life — clinic and tending to our other businesses for 6–8 weeks, then taking a break from the clinic without taking a break from my patients.

So, let’s explore the world. Work smart, travel smarter, and share the experience!!!

protect your 👀

Pickleball moves fast. In 0.5 seconds, the ball can reach your eyes at high speed. Close-range shots give you little time to react.

See the ball, protect it all.

Wear wraparound goggles with polycarbonate lenses. They absorb impact and shield your eyes from sudden hits. This reduces the risk of corneal injury and retinal damage.

Stay sharp on the court. Anti-fog coatings and UV protection help you keep clear vision in every rally.

Make eye protection part of your game. Put your goggles on before you play.

“The bravest of them all—Lester!
My youngest cataract patient had his first eye done at 6 under topical anesthesia, and now at 7 he’s back for his second eye (done this week, March 19). I’ll never forget how brave he is.
To our older patients nervous about cataract surgery: don’t be afraid. If anyone can tell you it doesn’t hurt, it’s Lester. 💪👁️

Story of a 6-year-old child who underwent Cataract Surgery under Local Anesthesia

This inspiring photograph showcases the remarkable courage of a 6-year-old child who recently underwent successful cataract surgery (lensectomy, left eye).
The procedure involved intraocular lens implantation with topical anesthesia then subtenon's and intracameral anesthesia while the child's mother provided comfort by holding his hand throughout.
Given the child's exceptional cooperation and the family's financial constraints, and with the parents' full understanding of the risks and benefits, we opted for local anesthesia, a more affordable alternative to general anesthesia.
Despite the procedure, the child remained calm and even dozed off towards the end. This case demonstrates the safety and efficacy of cataract surgery, even with the use of local anesthesia in carefully selected pediatric cases.
Both the child and his mother are overjoyed with the improved vision.
This heartwarming story demonstrates that cataract surgery can be successfully performed even in young patients under local anesthesia , although general anesthesia is typically preferred for very young children.
For those patients with cataracts, this story is for you, to dispel the fear of the procedure.
It also highlights the remarkable range of ages we've successfully treated, from this brave young boy under local anesthesia to our oldest patient at 99 years old.
If you or someone you know is experiencing vision problems , please consult with an ophthalmologist at any Eye Centers to discuss the best treatment options."

with permission to post from the patient and patient’s mom.
I am proud of you, Lexter Kyle! Bravo!!!
