As part of our regular dengue prevention campaign, the Oplan Kulob activity was successfully conducted in Sitio KB by our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) together with the Provincial Health Navigators in their respective assigned areas.

This initiative aims to help prevent the spread of dengue by identifying and eliminating mosquito breeding sites. During the activity, health education was also provided to community members on the importance of dengue prevention, proper waste management, and maintaining clean surroundings.

Residents were encouraged to regularly practice the 5S Strategy, especially by cleaning their surroundings, covering water containers, searching for and destroying mosquito breeding places, protecting themselves from mosquito bites, and seeking early consultation when symptoms occur.

Let us continue working together to keep Sitio KB safe, clean, and dengue-free. 💚🦟

The activity also served as an opportunity to address residents' concerns regarding dengue prevention and reinforce the importance of maintaining these practices throughout the year.

The conduct of Oplan Kulob was successfully implemented through the collective efforts of the Barangay Health Station staff, BHWs, Health Navigators, Purok Leaders, and the residents of Sitio KB. JULY 8,2026
Conduct of Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid

The Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening activity was successfully conducted at Bololmala Barangay Health Station (BHS) for women aged 30–49 years. The activity was led by Dr. Flaire Estrebilla and Ms. Mina K. Sandilinia, RM, with the support of the Barangay Health Station staff.

The activity aimed to promote the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer through timely screening of eligible women. Prior to the examination, participants received health education on cervical cancer, its risk factors, the importance of regular screening, and the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment. VIA is a simple and effective screening method that allows trained healthcare providers to identify possible precancerous changes of the cervix by applying dilute acetic acid and visually inspecting the cervix for abnormal changes.

Eligible mothers underwent VIA screening in a safe, private, and respectful environment while maintaining infection prevention and confidentiality. Women with normal findings were advised to continue routine cervical cancer screening at the recommended interval, while those with suspicious findings were counseled and referred for appropriate follow-up management as necessary.

The successful implementation of the activity strengthened community awareness on cervical cancer prevention and encouraged women to take an active role in protecting their reproductive health. The dedication of Dr. Flaire Estrebilla, Ms. Mina K. Sandilinia, RM, and the Bololmala BHS team contributed to the effective delivery of quality cervical cancer screening services for the women of the community.
