Family Planning in Times of Crisis
As part of the celebration of Family Planning Month 2026, the Valenzuela City Population Management Office, in partnership with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health (DRRM-H) Unit of the City Health Office, conducted the Barangay Population Managers’ (BPMs) Forum on August 3, 2026.
With the theme “Family Planning During Disaster: Ensuring Continuity of Reproductive Health Services in Emergencies,” the forum emphasized the vital role of BPMs as frontline advocates for family planning and reproductive health—especially during disasters and emergencies.
Our very own Dr. Lombard Saligumba, Head of DRRM-H, shared valuable insights and strategies to help ensure that essential family planning information, counseling, referrals, and services remain accessible even during times of crisis.
Through strengthened knowledge, coordination, and collaboration, we continue to empower our BPMs to bring accessible, timely, and people-centered reproductive health services closer to every Valenzuelano family.
Because family planning cannot wait—even in times of crisis. 💙
