Sa pagsusuri, nakita na ang ugat ng isang "milk tooth" sa harap ay bumutas na sa gilagid at umabot hanggang sa loob ng labi—isang hindi pangkaraniwang sitwasyon na nangangailangan ng agarang atensiyon. Matapos ang maingat na pagsusuri, kinailangang bunutin ang ngipin upang maiwasan ang karagdagang iritasyon, impeksyon at matulungan ang area na gumaling nang maayos.

Dentist: Yes po. Kahit baby teeth, importante pa rin silang gamutin kapag may cavity.

Patient: Bakit po?

Dentist: Kasi ang baby teeth ay tumutulong sa pagnguya ng maayos, malinaw na pagsasalita, at pag-maintain ng space para sa permanent teeth. Kapag pinabayaan ang sira, puwedeng magdulot ng pananakit, pamamaga, at maagang pagkawala ng ngipin.

Patient: Ah ganun pala yun, kaya pala kailangan din pala pastahan.

Dentist: Yes po. Maaaring pansamantala lang ang baby teeth, pero napakahalaga ng papel nila sa pagdevelop ng healthy smile ng bata.
