The Eastern Bicol Medical Center (EBMC) successfully concluded its 4-day Patient Safety Day Celebration, held on September 14–17, 2026, with the theme “Safe Care for Non-Communicable Diseases.”

The celebration opened on September 14 with a Prayer and Flag Ceremony, followed by messages from Dr. Ma. Consuelo I. Barceta, Health and Patient Safety Chairperson, and Dr. Maria Bessie R. Zafe, Chief of Hospital II. The 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐉𝐌𝐏-𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐞, 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐄𝐁𝐌𝐂 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧, 𝐄𝐁𝐌𝐂 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐓𝐑, providing treats and refreshments to patients, watchers, visitors, guests, and staff.

On September 15, the booths continued alongside the EBMC Biggest Loser weigh-in, in collaboration with the Health and Wellness Committee.

September 16 featured the Patient Safety Quiz Bee, participated in by different EBMC departments. Congratulations to the winners:

That evening, the EBMC Building and PLGU Capitol Building were illuminated in orange in support of World Patient Safety Day. 🧡

The celebration culminated on September 17 with a Lay Forum on Non-Communicable Diseases, attended by patients, watchers, student nurses, EBMC staff, and retirees. Our heartfelt thanks to our resource speakers:
