Red Blood Cell Life Journey
1. Childbirth (red blood cell formation):
Red blood cells begin life in the red bone marrow, where it is produced from a stem cell known as the Hematopoietic Stem Cell. The cell goes through several stages of development, starting from the mother cell and gradually matures until it becomes an immature red blood cell (Reticulocyte). This phase lasts about 7 days.
Eventually, the nucleus loses its last maturation stage and becomes a full-grown red blood cell.

2. The Mission (It's Getting In The Blood):
Once maturing, red blood cells are released into the bloodstream.
Its primary function is to transport oxygen from the lungs to the body tissues, and return CO2 from the tissues to the lungs to remove it. This is done using a protein called hemoglobin, which gives it a distinctive red colour.

3. Practical life (blood cycle ) :
Red blood cells travel through blood vessels for approximately 120 days, fulfilling their vital tasks.
Moves in very fine arteries, veins and blood vessels.
It adapts to the environment, where it can change its shape to pass through very tight hair.

4. Old age (destroying her job):
Over time, red blood cells lose elasticity due to natural corrosion. Her ability to transport oxygen efficiently.
Signs of aging include:
The cellular membrane is deteriorating.
Decrease of enzyme activity in the cell.

5. THE END (DEATH AND DECISION):
When red blood cells become old, they are discarded by algae, known as the "blood cell graveyard."
Cells are broken down to their basic components:
Hemoglobin breaks down to:
Heme: Turns into pillerobin, which is transferred to the liver and placed in jaundice.
Globin: reused to produce new proteins.
Iron: Recycled for use in the manufacture of new blood cells.
