Seasonal Chest Infection in Children – What Parents Must Know.
These days many children are coming with cough, cold, fast breathing and fever. Most parents ignore it thinking “normal weather change” — that’s a mistake.
⚠️ Don’t ignore chest symptoms if your child has: • Fever lasting more than 2–3 days
• Fast or difficult breathing
• Continuous cough, especially at night
• Chest retractions (ribs pulling in while breathing)
• Poor feeding or lethargy.
❌ Common mistakes parents make
• Delaying doctor visit
• Giving leftover antibiotics
• Relying only on steam & home remedies
• Ignoring fast breathing
✅ What you should do
• Keep child warm
• Ensure proper fluids
• Get early medical evaluation
• Follow treatment exactly as advised
Early diagnosis prevents pneumonia, hospital admission, and complications.
📍 Consult early — don’t wait till it worsens.
